Pet care experience

WFH Pet Lover - Works w/ all needs

I have extensive hands-on experience caring for and training dogs with a wide range of needs, especially around separation anxiety, reactivity, and foundational obedience. I currently train my own dog, Benny, and have spent significant time working with professional trainers and behavior resources to help him feel calm, confident, and well-behaved in different environments. Through Benny, I’ve developed deep experience with: • Separation anxiety: building gradual independence, calm departures/arrivals, enrichment routines, and positive reinforcement. • Basic obedience: sit, stay, down, recall, leash manners, impulse control, and consistency in commands. • Reactivity and overstimulation: managing leash reactivity, structured walks, threshold training, and reading dog body language to prevent stress and escalation. • Positive reinforcement training: reward-based methods tailored to each dog’s personality and comfort level. I’ve also cared for dogs of different ages, sizes, and temperaments—from energetic puppies to senior dogs—through dog walking and pet sitting for over 10 years. I prioritize clear communication, routine, and safety, and I always adapt my approach to each dog’s unique needs. Because I understand how sensitive some dogs can be, I’m especially patient, observant, and proactive. My goal is always to make pets feel secure, understood, and loved while giving owners peace of mind that their dog is in thoughtful, capable hands.

Taylor is so caring and communicative! She really wants the best for your pets and asks all the right questions to make sure they are feeling safe and happy! Our pups loved her!! And we LOVE all the photos and vids she sent while we were gone. Will definitely have her back!

Taylor took excellent care of our sweet dog Stella on short notice last week. Stella is normally hesitant around new people, but she warmed up quickly to Taylor and seemed right at home within hours of her stay. Stella even seemed sad to say goodbye! I’d certainly recommend Taylor to anyone looking for a trustworthy and empathic dog sitter.

Taylor was super communicative and so patient with Burrito, who runs very anxious. By the end of her stay, Burrito warmed up so much to Taylor which just goes to show how much care Taylor poured into making sure Burrito was loved while mom was away. Burrito and I appreciate you Taylor!!

Schedule

I work fully remote with a very flexible schedule, which allows me to prioritize pet care throughout the day. I structure my days around my own dog, Benny, which means I’m already used to planning walks, playtime, training, feeding, and calm rest periods into my routine. Benny’s schedule includes morning and evening walks, enrichment activities, training sessions, and plenty of downtime, so I’m comfortable balancing multiple dogs with different needs and energy levels. I’m happy to adapt my schedule to match your pet’s routine, whether that means extra potty breaks, medication, structured exercise, quiet companionship, or specific feeding and training preferences. Because I’m home most of the day, I can provide attentive care, frequent check-ins, and a calm, consistent environment. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while maintaining the routine that helps them thrive.

Safety, trust & environment

I use positive reinforcement only in all interactions with dogs. I believe in building trust, confidence, and good behavior through patience, consistency, and reward-based training rather than punishment. Through training my own dog, Benny, I’ve gained extensive experience working through separation anxiety, basic obedience, and reactivity using gentle, science-backed methods. I also have experience with fostering dogs and have completed safety and handling trainings through the San Diego Humane Society. These experiences have helped me better understand dog body language, stress signals, and how to safely support dogs with different backgrounds, temperaments, and needs. As a pet parent myself, I truly understand how hard it can be to leave your dog with someone new. That’s why I provide frequent updates, photos, and messages during each stay or walk. My goal is not just to care for your pet, but to make sure you feel informed, reassured, and confident that your dog is happy, safe, and loved while in my care.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day with me is calm, structured, and focused on your pet’s comfort and well-being. My mornings usually start with a walk or potty break, followed by feeding and some light training or enrichment to help dogs feel settled and mentally stimulated. Because I work fully remote, I am home throughout the day and can provide regular check-ins, playtime, cuddles, and additional walks as needed. I love spending time outdoors, so dogs in my care can expect safe and enriching walks in the neighborhood and nearby green spaces. I balance activity with rest to make sure pets have plenty of downtime to relax in a calm environment. Throughout the day, I follow each pet’s individual routine, including specific feeding times, medication, quiet companionship, and exercise needs. I also send frequent updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing and can feel reassured while you are away. As a pet parent myself, I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your dog. My goal is to make every day feel safe, predictable, and positive for your pet.
