Availability
• I am home all day and rarely leave for longer than a couple of hours. • I try to keep my Rover schedule up to date for when I am unavailable. • Since I require a meet and greet in advance, please contact me at least two weeks prior to your needed booking date. • My sister and I live together in a house with a fenced yard. She is also an experienced Rover sitter, currently inactive while she works and goes to school. She won't be assisting much, but I like to be transparent about the other humans your dog will be interacting with while they're here.

Safety, trust & environment
I focus on creating a calm, positive environment and always use reward based interactions so dogs feel safe and confident. I also pay close attention to behavior and body language to ensure each dog’s needs are met. Every dog I care for is treated like part of the family. Plenty of attention, patience, and affection are always included. IMPORTANT: • I've spent many hours training my dog to be a well mannered magnificent mutt :) He loves to play. I’ve noticed this bothers some dogs. • I have a fenced backyard but as an extra safety measure I never leave dogs unattended back there. Regardless, if your dog is an escape artist - this will not be the best fit. • Make sure your dog arrives clean and healthy so that they can enjoy all of the same luxuries my dog does - unlimited access to lounging on furniture, snuggles, petting, and scritches! - Please pack any grooming tools that may be needed over the course of their stay (shampoo, paw wipes, brush, etc.) REQUIRED: • I require that all dogs are up to date on their vaccines and flea/tick/heartworm preventative. I will need vaccination proof, sent through Rover or brought in person at the Meet and Greet. My dog is on Simparica trio in addition to always being up to date on vaccines. • Meet & Greets are required, as far in advance as possible. For extended stay boarding, I offer a discounted doggy day-care rate to prospective clients. I highly recommend this as it allows me to observe how your dog's behavior when you aren't present, prior to your extended absence, which provides greater peace of mind for all involved parties :) • Your dog must be 100% house trained, obedient, and properly socialized in order to have the best time possible during their stay.

Please let me know: • Common commands your dog is used to • Playtime preferences (i.e. tug toys, fetch, puzzles) • Allergies to food/treats, etc. • Meal time & potty break routines Please fill out all Pet Info fields on Rover so I can easily refer to it before and during the booking. I look forward to welcoming your dog into my home where they'll become a part of our pack and receive lots of love!
A typical day
It really depends on the dog and energy level. Dennis is a couch potato 80% of the day so our routine is adjustable to fit the needs of our boarding buddies. We go on walks around the neighborhood or at nearby parks/trails. Play fetch in the backyard daily and have a plethora of toys and puzzles to play with indoors. I have a book with 100 different activities for dogs that I love using to find what clicks and keeps each individual dog entertained!

Pet care experience
Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with over 15 years of dog sitting experience. Whether it’s for friends, family, or Rover clients - I sincerely enjoy providing peace of mind to pet parents and the highest quality care for dogs. It's been a while since I've been active on Rover and I’m not sure how my rating is so low. Perhaps it’s from a boarding booking I completed in San Diego. I naively accepted this booking without a meet & greet. The owner was not forthcoming about her senior dog’s cognitive functioning, and additionally the little dude had diarrhea 30 minutes after drop off, and continued relieving himself anywhere but outside throughout the stay. I was communicative throughout the stay and followed her instructions on how to try and get him to go potty outside (instead of inside every single time, usually after a 10-20 minute walk). Nothing worked and sadly the little guy had to spend a lot of time crated. I had to contact Rover about it because I had no experience at the time with incontinent senior dogs. My rates are currently discounted so that I can build trust and establish a client base, while providing 5-star pet sitting to new clients 😊 I’ve spent the last 5 years working in the corporate world as an Operations Manager. I knew deep down it wasn’t what I wanted to be doing, but I was really good at it and it paid well. After being laid off earlier this year - I took it as a sign that it’s time to pursue my real passion of pet care and animal welfare. Now that I have all this free time, I am filling it with volunteering at shelters, pet sitting for friends & family, and finally utilizing the Karen Pryor dog training course/materials that I started 2 years ago (but gave up on because I was too burnt out from work). TLDR: I can be home all day and am excited to offer my pet care services on Rover again! Spending time with dogs has always come naturally to me. I’m that person at the party who is more interested in hanging out with the host's dog than meeting new people. I have a dog of my own who is very loved and spoiled, so I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pet. My goal is always to make dogs feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while their owners are away. I also have hands on dog training experience and am passionate about positive reinforcement training. I plan to complete the Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (CPT) program in the future to continue expanding my skills. Because of this, I pay close attention to dog body language, routines, and behavior so each dog gets care that fits their personality and needs. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime, enrichment activities, or just having someone nearby for company, I’m happy to keep them on their usual routine. I’m comfortable with different energy levels and personalities, from playful party animals to laid-back couch companions. You can expect dependable care, regular updates, and lots of attention for your dog while you’re away. I treat every dog like they’re my own and aim to make the experience stress free for both you and your furry family member.

Excellent service! Sent videos and pictures.

Tawni did an awesome job watching our senior, blind dog for a week while we were gone. She kept us updated and took great care of our dog and home. Would definitely use Tawni again!

Tawni is flexible, kind, and communicative. She was honest about her availability and worked with our schedule. We were so lucky that she was available to take care of our pup during a holiday weekend. When we returned our apartment was in perfect condition, and our pup seemed quite happy. We received pictures and updates while we were away. We will definitely reach out to Tawni again when we travel.

Tawni was great with out dogs! I got updates every day I was gone and she got them out on walks and to dog parks every day. When we got back they seemed super happy and well exercised. I didn't worry about them for a second while I was on my trip, and that peace of mind makes leaving way easier. I'll definitely be asking Tawni to watch them for any upcoming trips as well!
