Currently, I work remotely, which makes house-sitting possible. . My typical weekday involves working on my computer for 10 hours. I start work between 7am and 9am. I end the day between 5pm and 7pm. I typically don't work weekends or holidays. . On weekdays, I can start a house sit in the evening starting at 7pm or later. If you need the house sit to start earlier than 7pm on a non-holiday weekday I will consider those requests on a case-by-case basis. I can feed and take the dog(s) out to potty in the morning before starting work and I can take the dog(s) on a potty break midday. On weekends, I usually can start the sit earlier than 7pm. . During the week: I am typically not available for walks or drop-in appointments before 7pm. Weekends and holidays: On weekends and holidays I typically can accommodate walks and drop-in appointments. . Disclaimer: I reserve the right to leave to get food and basic necessities during a house sit at any point. I also reserve the right to leave for 4-6 hours during the day. . Constant Care: Pets requiring constant care will be considered on a case-by-case basis and will be subject to additional fees depending on the pets specific needs. I consider a pet to need constant care if the pet: (1) cannot be left for 4 hours at a time and/or (2) will need supervision or attention during 8 hours overnight (sleep time for me) or during the day while I work.

In-person Meet & Greets are required prior to all services for new clients. I need to meet the pet(s) and assess temperament. . For dogs I want to go on a walk with the dogs and make sure the leashes, collars and equipment used to walk the pet is in good condition and the pet cannot slip out of the equipment. I want to see the typical walk environment and assess potential safety hazards (coyotes, aggressive dogs behind flimsy fences, debris in the area, etc.) and logistical issues (elevators, stairs, parking). . For all pets the in-person Meet & Greet will also allow me to assess the escape risks for pets and options for minimizing these risks. . The Meet & Greet will also allow you the opportunity to meet me in person, ask me questions and see me interact with your pet. Entrusting your pet and your home to a stranger is a very important decision for you and it should be taken seriously. If for some reason you do feel comfortable with me watching your pets or staying in your house after the Meet & Greet, you should meet with another sitter and find one that matches your needs. . Miscellaneous: I do not plan to bring any people or pets (other than the ones you are asking me to watch) into your home while I pet sit. . Disclaimer: I reserve the right to refuse the sit if after the Meet and Greet I am not comfortable with the situation. While I have experience with aggressive dogs and cats, my overnight sit rate is for social/well-adjusted animals. Animals in need of behavioral modification or that pose a safety risk to myself or others should be boarded at a facility that is geared towards aggressive animals. Similarly, while I have experience caring for animals post surgery or animals experiencing acute medical conditions, my overnight rate is for healthy animals and/or animals with well-controlled chronic conditions. Medically fragile animals should be boarded at a veterinary facility with 24/7 staffing.

A typical day
For dogs we will go on walks, sniffaries and play with their favorite toys. Lots of pets, scratches and cuddles for those dogs who like that. For cats if they have toys they enjoy we can play with their toys.

Hi pet guardians, I’m Tauri. I’m new to Rover but I’ve been taking care of pets - my own and other people’s - for years. I know how hard it is to find a reliable dog walker or pet sitter. I joined Rover to be a resource to pet guardians who want someone who prioritizes their pet’s wellbeing and the pet guardian’s peace of mind. I know I’m reliable and responsible but I wanted to prove that to you, the pet guardians, prior to getting a ton of reviews. To do that I obtained independent pet sitting insurance through Pet Sitters Associates and paid extra to be bonded through them. I joined Pet Sitters International and successfully completed PSI’s Pet First Aid & CPCR for Pet-Care Professionals. I have extensive dog care experience, including training large working breed dogs for search and rescue (e.g. Dobermans and German Shepherds). I volunteered to find missing people and spend my own money to train and travel to searches. . I’ve walked and watched dogs from 5lbs to 130 pounds. I’m comfortable administering oral medicine and watching multiple dogs and other pets - cats, bunnies, birds, etc. . I have experience with dogs who have separation anxiety and I am open to a constant care option on a case-by-case basis (at a higher rate). . I've completed Michael Shikashio’s Aggression in Dogs Master Course, and I'm enrolled in Susan Clothier’s Treat Retreat course, which is geared towards helping dogs who are nervous interacting with people. . I've raised many puppies. I am willing to do walks and drop-ins for puppies. I am open to overnight sits for puppies on a case-by-case basis. Tauri is a gem! She recently looked after my two large dogs and my cats, and she did an amazing job. She truly goes above and beyond to make sure your pets feel safe and completely loved. She responds quickly to messages and gave me wonderful photo updates throughout the walks, and it was so clear the pups were incredibly content. Tauri is absolutely amazing. My partner and I have two big Dobermans, and anytime we need her to care for them, we’re completely at ease knowing she’s there. She even managed to get our cat—who fully believes he’s a dog—relaxed and comfortable around her, which says everything about her calm, intuitive energy with animals. She has gone above and beyond in every way, including giving Bones, our dog with DCM, his medication with care and consistency. She also walks our dogs with confidence and patience, even handling Ranger—who is adventurous, strong, and tends to pull on walks—with ease and control. We genuinely can’t recommend Tauri enough.
