Pet care experience
Family love & epic outings!
A boutique pet boarding experience for dogs who thrive in a family environment and love forest adventures. With 29 years of pet care experience, including 11 years of running my own professional dog walking and pet sitting business in Portland, Oregon, I'm very intuitive to animal needs and well versed in animal behavior and holistic pet health. I grew up hanging out in my aunt’s animal hospital and thought one day I would be a veterinarian. Instead, my focus turned to wildlife and I eventually earned a degree in biology with a focus on wildlife research. Between then I never lost my love for small animals and spent time working for an outdoor adventure dog camp, an animal massage school, working at a few holistic pet supply stores where I honed my pet nutrition knowledge, and eventually created a successful dog walking and pet sitting business. I love to encourage good manners and inspire confidence when I care for pets. If you have certain techniques or words you’d like me to use I am more than happy to accommodate. I am also happy to share my wisdom and techniques if you would like advice. I have found that when pets get enough exercise, understand boundaries, and are rewarded for good behavior, they are much happier and have fewer behavioral issues which makes everyone happier! Since moving to Tahoe in 2015, the scope of my professional career shifted and my main focuses are now on being a wellness consultant, herbalist, and plant medicine maker. My husband and I recently moved from Truckee to Sierraville with our baby boy Levi, our kitty Sage Hazelwood and our Catahoula-Great Dane mix Kiddo. Even though I have occasionally pet sat since living here, I have grown to miss interacting with different dogs and cats regularly and want to offer my services once again! Thank you for taking your time to learn about me and look forward to learning about you and your pets! -Tasha I'm a full-time toddler mom and work from home so I’m usually available! I’m flexible with spontaneous bookings and will let you know my availability ASAP. We have an acre to run around on and nearby forest trails. Inside the house is cozy & open and your dog will get lots of love & affection from our family.

Tasha Rose was an excellent dog sitter, and Lupita really enjoyed her stay. Thank you So much!

Tasha went above and beyond in taking great care of our dog Brady! Sent thoughtful updates and was super easy to work and coordinate with. Tasha and family are so sweet and lovely people overall! Your dog will be in safe, caring hands if you choose her for your dog care. :)

Another great day with Tasha.

Pico had a great time with Tasha and family. There is a large yard and creek for playing in and a comfy spot in the house for napping. Tasha's dogs are friendly and her son was super sweet with our dog. Tasha was flexible and easy to communicate with. I would definitely recommend her and plan on using her again.

Tasha was so lovely! This was my first time leaving Rocky due to a last minute family emergency and it was a great success :) we came by for a meet and greet prior to drop off and it felt great to be so confident Rocky would be in great hands. He had so much fun, lots of activities and play time. Tasha was communicative and sent lots of adorable pictures and videos. Rocky is not great with recall so Tasha’s husband made a zip line so Rocky could easily explore as much of their property as possible! They really went above and beyond in so many ways. Thank you so much will definitely reach out to Tasha again if Rocky needs a sitter in the area!

Really great experience, my pup had the best time. They have a great lawn to run around on, a fun toddler and dog of their own to keep your dog entertained. Highly reccomended.

Schedule
I work part-time on Thursdays and Fridays and full-time at home with my 4yo the rest of the days. My husband is also home Monday through Wednesday and often finds himself playing with and loving our dog guests just as much as me and our son do.
Where your pet will stay
Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I live on an unfenced acre in Sierra County surrounded by wildlife and mountain forest vibes. If your dog struggles with recall or prey drive, I can use leashes and my husband can put up our cable runner/pulley so that they can still enjoy running around in the yard with boundaries.

A typical day
We'll go for a hike in our special secret spots in the Tahoe forest where there are creeks to swim and play fetch in. At home, we'll spend time in the yard on our grassy acre under the trees and the dogs can drink fresh water from the stream running through the backyard. When it's time to chill, we'll cuddle up inside and lounge in the living room.
