Pet care experience

Ready to adventure with your baby!

I have been around dogs of all sizes and breeds since I was born. I am comfortable with anything from a Shih-Tzu to an Anatolian Shepherd! Giant breed dogs and herding breeds have always held a special place in my heart! I worked at a large farm for 5 years where I gained experience caring for boarding dogs and working livestock guardians. I have a small farm of my own, volunteer in wildlife rehab, and do animal rescue, so if you have other animals in the home I've got them covered as well! Over the last couple years, my family and I have built a small 501c3 rescue to pull animals, specifically focusing on animals that need extra care, such as bottle litters, senior dogs, and dogs with behavioral issues. I currently work for a dog trainer during the school year in Wilmington, and a dog daycare at home in Waxhaw. I have 9 dogs at home, and my personal dogs are at college with me. I love taking pictures and will do my best to get high quality pictures for you of your babies enjoying their walks!

Safety, trust & environment

I am happy to do whatever your pet needs to feel safe and secure while you are gone! I totally get having high maintenance pets with specific needs, and I will do my best to keep their routine as close to normal as possible and limit stress. Since I work at a daycare and had my own special needs pets, I am confident in my ability to administer medication and provide basic medical care.

Taryn visited our home twice daily for a week or let our dog out while we were on vacation. She was very kind and our dog took to her quickly! Would recommend and book again.

Schedule

I'm currently in college and working Thursday nights. My class schedule can get a little weird week to week but I do my best to be flexible and respond quickly. My weekday mornings and afternoons tend to be busy but I do my best to work around your schedule! I am also a huge night owl so I don't mind if your furry friends need late-night visits!

Please let me know about special needs or behaviors ahead of time! As long as I feel 110% sure that I can keep your pet safe I will not turn you away, but to set everyone up for success I like to be prepared. I have handled lots of reactive/aggressive dogs of all sizes and pets of all different personalities - I am confident in my ability to work through any issues that may arise. I can crate and rotate, feed separately, work through reactions on walks, follow training protocols to support ongoing training, and handle whatever other special care your pet needs! Also, if your dog knows tricks or commands, please let me know! I love to take pictures and have some fun with them!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
