Pet care experience

Compassionate and caring dog lover

I've had a dog as part of my family for as long as I can remember. I would walk, feed, and clean up after them as I grew up. At the age of 16, I found my pup, Tessa, at the Animal Humane and got my first job just so I could have her (Yes, I paid for everything for her by myself). Since then I have had her by my side through finishing high school, finishing my undergrad, moving cities and states. When I was finishing my undergrad I decided to get another pup so my girl could have a sibling especially once I started working full time. I got my boy, Haka, at six weeks old and now he is 6yrs. Growing up I use to walk my neighbors pug multiple times a week. When in high school we had multiple dogs in the household that required extra care and attention due to their different personalities and temperaments. With my dog being bigger than the other dogs in my family I had to take measures to ensure all of them remained safe. This mainly involved having different play times and feeding them separately. For example: One of the dogs was very territorial over toys and would lash out at any other dog that came around, however, this pup was the smallest one so it was essential for me to mitigate the opportunity for a bad situation. This involved monitoring the situation at all times when the toy was out, keeping the dogs separated, or removing the toys altogether.

Tarah is so nice, her 2 pups were very sweet and accepting of a new dog to the their pack. Tarah communicated well and sent me an update and photo. She’s very flexible which helped with a short notice meet and greet with the pups. This was a big help while I sort some stuff out at home. Aly will be going back and I whole heartedly recommend Tarah. Thanks Tarah!

Calendar and availability

Schedule

I’m currently shifting to a new career field, so I am at home full time and plan to be throughout summer. I am a very active person with two of my own high energy pups that love to play at home or the dog park and loves walks/runs.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 2 dogs
No children present
Dogs not allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 2-4 hours

Safety, trust & environment

I live in a townhome that has a relatively small yard and have a dog door that allows for anytime potty breaks. I have a tall back fence completely enclosing the yard. I live with a mile of two parks and the walking path on Tramway, and a few miles from trails or the dog park. The safety of mine and your pets is the main priority, so transparency is very important. All animals have different personalities, and stress of a new environment can change how they behave so it’s important that I know how they may react so I can put proper measures in place to keep everyone safe.

Pets

A typical day

I love to be active outside either going on runs or going hiking to explore new areas. I also enjoy taking walks around the different neighborhood. If your pup is social, I’m happy to bring them along to play at the dog park.

The main things I need to know about your beloved pups are: 1) Food and environmental allergies 2) Food sensitivities- can they eat dairy, grain, etc. 3) Any behavioral tendencies- Are they chewers, do they jump fences, are they scared of dogs/people/loud sounds and what do they do in response to these
