Safety, trust & environment

I have experience with territorial animals who need to be taken out of and put into their crates carefully as well as skittish animals who are hesitant with new people. Whether you have a fenced-in yard or I'll be walking your baby around the neighborhood, you can rest assured that they'll be treated with patience and a diligent eye. As someone who has personally owned animals with special needs, who need oral and injected medication, and who have trauma I know that pet care is more than just playing with animals and I'm ready to make sure your baby is properly taken care of.

Information Tara S. would like to know about your pet

Every pet has a unique personality and connection to people. It's important to know how your baby feels about new people to build a good relationship off the bat. If we'll be going on a walk, let me know how they respond to other dogs, runners, etc. to make sure we don't just have a fun walk- we have a safe one! Allergies, medication needs, health issues, and anything that might pose a danger to either your baby or myself are important to mention.

A typical day

My favorite part about walking dogs in downtown Boston is taking them through the Boston Commons! I love to take dogs through a grassy area where there's plenty of stimuli and sniffies for them. My own dog doesn't play fetch or catch a frisbee, so I love it when I can do that with other dogs! I am also the tug-of-war queen- especially with big dogs. If your pet has any favorite toys we'll be sure to make good use of them!

Boston Professional Dog Walker

Pet care experience

Professional dog walker for downtown Boston who is excited to expand to the metro Boston area. Before moving to MA, I worked for my mom's pet care service, Patti's Pet Service, in Michigan. We did cat, dog, and even turtle sittings! I have experience caring for and walking large, small, reactive, senior, and special needs dogs. I've walked all combos of big and small dogs. I also love walking cats! I've trained puppies, adult dogs, and my deaf dog, Worm. I have experience giving oral medication to both dogs and cats. Along with our menagerie of dogs and cats, I've also owned hamsters, rats, a guinea pig, fish, turtles, lizards, and even fostered a ball python named David Bowie, so if you have any special babies that need attention I'll make sure they get some love too! Whether your pet is the snuggliest baby or takes time to warm up to new people, we'll have a great time together.

Thank god for Tara! She was extremely communicative both leading up to and during the sit. I would get photos and videos of Agnes very regularly, to where I had no anxieties at all about her, as she can be a bit particular. Thank you so much to you and Worm for taking care of Agnes!

Tara is always SO wonderful with our kitties! We’re so comfortable with her care that we feel like we can really enjoy our trips when we’re away! This most recent trip we had even more appreciation for Tara. One of our cats has these autoimmune flare ups that can be really dangerous and just as we were leaving town, he got one of his flare ups. We made sure he had the vet care he needed the day before our trip but we were really anxious about leaving the next day. Tara checked in on our babies an extra/unexpected/last-minute time to make sure our boy was okay. She was so flexible and kind and made us feel so reassured! Our kitty did so well with her care and cuddles!

Tara did SUCH a great job with our cat Charlie! You could tell she was getting lots of love and attention the whole time, she almost didn't want to come home!
