Dog & cat boarding in my home

As this is my full time job and only form of income dogs get way more attention here than most places but I do have certain requirements and watch multiple dogs at a time. I require a 2 night stay minimum on weekends, 3 night minimum stay on 3 day holiday weekends, 4 night minimum stay for Thanksgiving week and a 5 night minimum stay over school breaks, ie February break, April/Spring break and Christmas/New Years break. Minimum stay or the cost equivalent to the minimum stay if you do not want pets to stay for the minimum stay requirement. No pick ups or drop offs on any major holidays. I also stick to pick up and drop off hours of 8-11am & 2-5pm on weekdays and 9-11am & 3-5pm on weekends. Pick up times needed outside of those hours would require an additional night stay or an after hours pick up/drop off fee if the timing can be accommodated. I watch multiple dogs at a time so dogs staying with me need to be good with other dogs. I was a veterinarian technician for 16+ yrs and am completely comfortable giving any medications including injectable ones. Dogs get to stay in my fully furnished basement and have access to all the amenities they’d have at home including cuddling on the couch and relaxing on beds. Pups love romping around and playing with each other in the big living room area. There is a nice fenced in outdoor area where they go out to go potty numerous times a day and can get their ‘zoomies’ out. This is something I do full time so dogs are out and about the majority of the time here. However they are kenneled overnight and when I leave. This is for their own safety so they can’t get into anything or get into any altercations with other dogs while unsupervised. I also have employees that work for me so I can get away from the house for longer periods of time during the days sometimes and won’t be leaving your pets alone unsupervised.

Tara's place is well thought out, clean and accommodating. My dog acclimated well, and Tara kept in touch while I was away. I would board there again.

Wonderful care and a beautiful spot at the base of the mountain with the sound of a creek - I dropped off my 6 month old pup for the day, and he had a blast. Tara is friendly and thoughtful and her many years as a vet tech really inspire confidence. I will definitely use her again for my pooch. Thanks Tara!

Tara was amazing with our Daisy. Daisy so enjoyed socializing and making doggy friends. We are so grateful as this was the first time we had to leave her. Clean, spacious, loving home ❤️

Calendar and availability

Schedule

Dogs are let out first thing in the morning, last thing at night and multiple times throughout the day. I’m home almost all the time as watching pets is my full time job. They are fed twice a day (or more if needed) and get to hangout doing whatever they love most throughout the day whether that be cuddling up next to me on the couch or romping around playing with other dog burning off excess energy. Pets are put away in kennels overnight and any time I leave the house.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 2 dogs
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 2-4 hours

Safety, trust & environment

Pets are required to be okay being crated. Although they are rarely left at my home alone, I do still leave to run errands and whatnot. I believe pets are safest while crated so they can’t harm themselves by getting into something they’re not supposed to. All pets must be up to date on Bordetella (Kennel Cough), Rabies and Distemper vaccines.

Pets

A typical day

Depending on your pets needs they will either be allowed to romp around in our fenced in yard (it’s not a super tall fence so please let me know if your dog is a fence jumper) and/or go for walks numerous times a day. They will also be able to have free roam inside where they have plenty of space to romp around. Cats will be in three tier kitty condos throughout their stay.
