Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine, so caring for your pet will fit in seamlessly. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to accommodate a variety of routines and timing needs, whether that’s early morning walks, midday potty breaks, or evening care.I enjoy keeping dogs active with daily walks or runs of at least two miles, and I’m happy to tailor the activity level to each dog’s age, energy, and abilities. I also incorporate positive reinforcement training throughout the day, including before, during, and after mealtimes, to help reinforce good manners and build confidence.I have a reliable vehicle equipped with a dog seat cover, so I’m able to take pups on adventures to local dog parks, walking trails, or hiking spots (with owner approval). Most importantly, I’m committed to working with each pet owner’s schedule and preferences to provide consistent, dependable care that keeps both pets and their families happy.

I also appreciate knowing how they interact with other dogs, people, children, or new environments so I can make the best decisions for their comfort and safety. Every pet has their own personality, and I want to respect their individual needs while providing the same level of care, attention, and love they receive from you. I encourage open communication and welcome any details, big or small, that will help me give your pet the best experience possible.
A typical day
I love creating fun, enriching experiences that keep dogs happy, engaged, and mentally stimulated. Every dog has their own personality and preferences, so I like to tailor activities to what makes them feel their best. Depending on your pet’s energy level and comfort, activities may include puzzle toys and enrichment games, training sessions, interactive play, ball throwing in safe open spaces, walks, hikes, trips to dog friendly parks, and even adventures like a car ride for a pup cup! For dogs who enjoy the water, I’m also happy to incorporate swimming when appropriate and approved by their owners. I also enjoy incorporating positive reinforcement training and desensitization activities to help dogs build confidence, learn new skills, and feel comfortable in different environments. Whether it’s an energetic adventure, a relaxing day with plenty of attention, or simply some extra playtime and companionship, my goal is to make sure every pet feels loved, fulfilled, and excited for their time together.

What sets me apart from other sitters is my unique background, experience, and commitment to providing thoughtful, individualized care for every animal entrusted to me. I am a prior Military Police Veteran with experience working alongside K9s, which has given me a strong understanding of animal behavior, communication, structure, and the importance of building trust and respect between a pet and their caregiver. While I have specialized experience with dogs, my love and care extend beyond just cats and dogs. I have experience caring for a variety of four legged family members and understand that every animal has their own personality, needs, routines, and ways of communicating. Whether it’s an energetic pup, a senior pet needing extra patience, or another furry companion needing attention and care, I approach each animal with the same compassion, responsibility, and respect. I have experience recognizing body language, understanding different temperaments, reinforcing positive behaviors, and helping pets feel safe and comfortable in new situations. I believe every pet deserves care that is tailored to who they are, whether they need exercise and enrichment, extra companionship, medication support, consistency with routines, or simply someone who will provide love and attention while their family is away. I am also a proud owner of three dogs of my own, which keeps me active and continuously learning about proper exercise, nutrition, routines, and the importance of consistency. Caring for my own pets has strengthened my attention to detail and my commitment to providing the same level of honesty, reliability, and love to every pet entrusted to me. Tara has been absolutely wonderful with our dogs while we've been out of town. She takes them on two walks every day, spends plenty of time playing with them in the backyard, and it's obvious from every interaction that she genuinely loves and cares about animals. She keeps us updated with photos, which gives us so much peace of mind while we're away. She's also cared for our dogs in the past along with our needy cat, who required oral medication twice a day. She handled everything with patience, compassion, and great attention to detail. We always come home to happy, well-cared-for pets, and we couldn't ask for more. My husband and I highly recommend Tara to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate, and trustworthy pet sitter. We're so grateful to have found her!
