Safety, trust & environment

I ensure that all animals feel safe and nurtured in my presence. I am consistent with routines and ensure that furry friends are fed, watered and walked as much as desired and required. Apart from there primary walk, I ensure that they have time outside in my garden, extra outings to the village green for a bit of play time with a ball and/or other dogs if depending on their personality and behaviour. I also make sure that they have a comfortable space in my house, whether that is on a dog bed or on the sofa or very occassionally my bed! I have a garden with a high wall that is completely secure. There are two large open plan rooms downstairs and it would be easy to separate the dogs if necessary.

Information Tara D. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog has any special needs that I should care for, and if you are happy at all for them to be off the lead on a walk. There are different walks that I do depending on the needs of the dog I am looking after.

A typical day

I walk for a minimum of an hour (depending on the chosen walk) every morning generally places where the dogs can be off the lead if they are trusted to be so. Then in the afternoon I will take them out again for a bit of a play with a ball or some socialising with other dogs in the village. I also love taking them to the Gogs where there is a secure off the lead walk and an enclosed doggy playfield at the end. It's one of the hightlights of the week when I take dogs there as they have such a great time running around with other furry friends.

Pet care experience

Hi there! I'm a passionate dog lover and experienced pet sitter who loves spending time with dogs. Growing up we had lots of dogs, as well as cats and horses. As an adult I have had my own dogs, both in Hong Kong where we used to live and now in the UK. We brought our beautiful rescue dog Jewels back with us from Hong Kong when we moved back in 2019 but sadly she passed away a couple of years later. We now have another rescue dog, he is a gorgeous sweet natured boy who is 2 years old and loves nothing more than to have some four legged friends over for a playdate. I work part time from home and I enjoy going on daily walks that last at least an hour, I love waling with my dog, it's good for the body and for the soul, and the same can be said for the dog! I often walk early in the morning and then have another shorter outing to play with a ball in the rec or a wander round the village in the afternoon to break up the day. We are lucky to have amazing walks nearby where, if the dogs are safe and trusted to do so, they can walk off the lead for most of them. Whether you need someone to watch your pup while you're away on holiday or provide them with a happy place to be while your out for the day, I'm here to offer loving care and ensure your dog has a fun and stress-free experience.

We were looking for someone who had experience with senior dogs and Tara fitted the bill. Our dog Kolo was quite anxious to start with, but settled down and enjoyed his stay, even paddling in the river on his walk.

Percy got on very well when staying with Tara. The photos Tara sent showed that Percy felt totally at home, was totally stress free and went on some lovely walks in the Cambridgeshire countryside. We would be happy to leave Percy with Tara again.
