I am fully insured, licensed, Pet First Aid/CPR-certified, and veterinary/medically trained. I have over 30 years experience caring for geriatric pets, as well as beloved pets with health conditions such as seizures, heart murmurs, and digestive disorders, so I am acutely tuned in to the special needs and subtle signals that furry kids exhibit when they are not feeling well. I'm also experienced in administering oral/topical medications, insulin shots, and subQ fluids. ♥ Please visit my Facebook page under UptownPetsSLC to see photos and videos of all the kiddos I've fostered, rescued, and pet sit over the past 30 years! ♥ I traveled for a corporate job in my previous career, so I understand the importance of sending photos and videos while you are away. Caring for your fur kiddo is not just my passion, it is my life's purpose, so rest assured that you will experience the highest level of care for your animals. Pets who stay overnight in my home will enjoy sleeping in my bed and on my furniture if you so choose, and they will be pampered and doted on in a non-smoking, extremely loving atmosphere. More than 10% of my profits go to animal rescue organizations nationwide so by choosing me as your provider, you will also indirectly be supporting the U.S. Humane Society, ASPCA, and our local shelter. Please feel free to contact me today to set up a complimentary consultation, and thank you for considering me for the premiere care of your beloved companion!

Tara did an amazing job caring for our dog. She took her on so many adventures and was great at giving updates with pictures and videos! She went above and beyond!

Tara was such an amazing sitter for our boy Finn! She sent us daily updates with photos and kept us completely in the loop. It was great to know he was being loved and cared for! When we picked Finn up it was apparent he had been so comfortable with Tara. She also took him for walks and hikes which was so great! We are so appreciative to Tara for caring for Finn like he was her own! We know he was in great hands!

She handled my dog with so much love and care. My dog had seizures and not only does she have experience with dogs with that condition but she was able to give me insite. She is now 100% my go to.

Schedule

I am in and out of the house quite a bit between wildlife rescue and caring for other clients' pets, but your baby will never go longer than a couple of hours without me coming home to spend time with them, and they are welcome to sleep with me at night. Although I don't have a fenced-in yard, I make an extra effort to take them to nearby parks and hikes through the woods adjacent to my community, and I am hypervigilant about leashing them up before I even open the door to go outside so that we don't have any escape artists! Your beloved fur kid is my priority while they are here, and I go above and beyond to ensure they feel comforted, loved, and well cared for until their beloved pack leaders return to them.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in an apartment
Has an unfenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 1 dog
No children present

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet's safety and happiness are my highest priorities. I treat every client as I wanted to be treated when I used to travel extensively for my Corporate job, and had to leave my own pets with someone else.

Pets

A typical day

I love watching their eyes light up after I leash them up and lift them out of my SUV to go "puppy Facebooking" and sniffing at nearby Reedy Creek Park!

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
Dogs over 1 year old
No females in heat
Tara can host up to 2 pets per night
I prefer to set up a free initial consultation since I like to know your pet's routines and see them interact with you in your home in order to make them feel most comfortable while you are away. I am also comfortable with hosting meet & greets in my home so that you are comfortable with the environment they will be staying in while you are away.
