Ratings and reviews
Taqueria and her family did an AMAZING job taking care of my senior Chihuahua, Nova! Nova usually takes a little bit of time to warm up to people, and even then, sometimes she doesn’t love them. After just the first day with Taqueria, Nova seemed right at home! I just know she loved all the attention and extra pets from the kids. 🥹 I would 100% take Nova back to Taqueria again. She kept me updated on how Nova was doing and let me know if there was anything abnormal. I felt very comfortable and at ease throughout Nova’s stay. I also really appreciated how open Taqueria was about where Nova would be sleeping, eating, etc. There was never any doubt in my mind that Nova would be anything but well taken care of. Thank you again for taking such great care of my pup!!! ❤️

I'll start this review by saying that my dog was A LOT for Taqueria: he was stressed by something in his new environment and reacting out of fear. This led to panicked energy, barking, marking his territory, and gastrointestinal intestinal issues later in his stay. This became a daily topic of communication between Taqueria and myself that we could not figure out. My dog doesn't have separation anxiety, so I think it was just a new stimulus that terrified him (eg, smell, sound, etc). Regardless of the reason, the result was a lot of messes and some damage for his sitter. I think this review would be very different if my dog had been calm, because I believe Taqueria provides great care. My criticism is how the situation was handled, but please keep in mind that it was from a dog sitter who may have been pushed to her breaking point. So I would like to preface that this is not a review of Taqueria; it is a review of an unfortunate situation. I would not have minded if the near-daily updates were simply out of concern (and sometimes they were), but most communication was perceived as long complaints about what my dog was doing to her property and the extra work she had to do clean it up. I had to ask follow-up questions about my dog's well being a few times because this detail was left out of the daily updates on the mess. But she didn't suspect dehydration or a health emergency when I asked, so we all just remained in this suboptimal situation. I had A LOT of empathy and doordashed everything she asked for (except meds), including calming treats, a bark collar, cleaning supplies on 2 separate occasions, and even a larger crate when she suspected that was the reason for my dog's behavior (unfortunately the crate turned out to be smaller when it arrived). I also tried to think of helpful suggestions based my dog's normal behavior, but I am afraid they may have come across as dismissive (not my intention) because her follow-up responses where defensive (in my opinion). I didn't deny anything she was saying, so she did NOT have to send photos of dog feces, urine, hair, or slobber in her house. Of the 14 days she watched my dog, there were more days where she sent photos or complaints of messes and damage (8 of the days) than photos of my dog (only 5 of the days). It was clearly a very frustrating situation for Taqueria, but the complaining when there was nothing more that I could do from 1000 miles away was very stressful for me as well. I would not recommend Taqueria for anyone who does not know their dog well (ie, a puppy or newly adopted dog) or a dog with known anxiety. If this is not you/your situation, then I encourage you to disregard my review and look at her other glowing reviews from happy dog parents.

She sent pictures of our dog every day! she was very sweet and we felt very comfortable with her. We could tell that she just loves dogs!

"She is an absolutely wonderful dog sitter who treats my dog like her own and provides the most meticulous care. Words can't even begin to describe how great she is! I had to leave my dog in her care for a long time, and both she and her son went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. I highly recommend her to anyone. If you choose her, you definitely won't regret it!"

Taqueria took such great care of my dog, My dog is usually very anxious when I pick her up, but not with Taqueria. I highly recommend her!
Taqueria took excellent care of my dog, Alec, over the 4th of July weekend. She kept me updated with photos and messages throughout his stay, which gave me great peace of mind. I would absolutely trust her with Alec again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter.

Schedule
"Pet care seamlessly integrates into my daily and weekly routine, making it a perfect fit for me. As a dedicated mother of two and a student pursuing a degree in cybersecurity and computer information technology, my schedule revolves around ensuring the well-being of my family and managing my studies. The beauty of pet care is that it complements my lifestyle effortlessly. Working part-time from home allows me the flexibility to be present for my children and excel in my studies, all while ensuring that I can provide the extra income that is beneficial for my family. Being home most of the time provides me with the opportunity to offer constant attention and care to the pets I watch. This is not just a job for me; it's a passion, and I take pride in being there for your pets when you can't be. In short, pet care harmonizes with my daily and weekly responsibilities, making it a win-win situation for both me and the pets I care for."
