A home for dogs who need TLC

My husband Bill, my 20 year old daughter and I all love dogs. When we embarked on our dog sitting adventures it was because two of us (my daughter and I) wanted more dogs and our dog Charlie needed some socialization at the beginning of the pandemic. And all 4 of us very soon discovered we loved dog sitting. So, while this rover account says Tanya M, it should state Tanya and Bill as we work together to care for dogs entrusted in our care. Our dog Charlie is a 10 year old mixed breed weighing in at 18 pounds. He likes to snuggle next to us on the couch. He loves to perch on furniture to watch out the window. He enjoys our daily walks but he also loves to sleep in the sun. He is a grazer who likes to eat on the rug (one piece at a time). But most importantly, he likes his "personal" space respected or he will run under the bed. When we look for a rover, we look for a home where he can do all these things, just like at home. And not have 5 other dogs or people pester him when he just wants to be left alone. We are here for all the dogs out there like Charlie. We believe in making sure we are a good fit for your pup. We know how stressful it can be for dogs to be away from home and away from you. That is why we want to make sure our home is the right home for your dog - and always require a meet and greet. Our home is located in South Minneapolis near Lake Harriet and Minnehaha creek both of which make for lots of fun walks. In addition to long walks we have a fenced in yard that allows for lots of playing and exercise. We have 5 years of experience caring for senior dogs and dogs that take multiple medications.

Tanya has watched my girl, Bennie, a few times and has been great. Bennie always seems well taken care of - between walks, yard time, some canine companionship and attention from the household, she always comes home a happy girl!

This is our 2nd stay with Tanya and she is truly the best - even with our finicky old dogs!

A typical day

A typical day will depend on whether it is a weekday or weekend. We enjoy going for walks over lunch and after dinner - and sometimes in the morning before work. We love to walk along Minnehaha Creek, which is a few short blocks away. Nights and weekends include lots of playing with balls and toys - both inside and in the yard. And lots of cuddling.

Our sweet dog Charlie gets along best with dogs who are his size or smaller (20 pounds or less) and dogs that are super chill and easy going. High energy dogs have him running under the bed and that is no place for Charlie to live his life. He loves to sleep next to me while I work - in any number of favorite places. He will play with dogs his size but also knows when to leave well enough alone. We are so lucky to have him in our life. If you you think your pup would get along well with Charlie, I would love to set up a meet and greet to ensure our pups get along well.
