If I could give her negative stars that still wouldn’t suffice. I hired Tameria B. to care for my dog, Percy, while I was overseas in Trinidad, and the experience was nothing short of distressing. I chose her specifically because she presented herself as a Sergeant in the Army Reserves and a pre-law student at Howard University, which resonated with me as someone who served five years active duty USMC and is also a Howard student. I was looking for trust, community, and shared values, and instead was met with negligence, dishonesty, and emotional manipulation. On the first day, she claimed to have followed my instructions and fed Percy, but I watched on the dog cam as she entered, stayed only a few minutes, and left without properly feeding him, all while letting the dog-walking app run to fake a full 30-minute visit. The following day, she didn’t show up at all. I only realized this because I checked the camera; had I not, my dog would have gone the entire day without care. When I reached out, she didn’t apologize or offer a solution but instead initiated a long, antagonistic back-and-forth via message from 9:30 in the morning until 12:30 in the afternoon, choosing to argue with me rather than fulfill the job she had been hired to do. During this time, she accused me of neglect due to shedding, despite the fact that Percy is a husky and I had printed care instructions explicitly stating that shedding is normal for his breed. Previous sitters had no issue with this, which I confirmed again just to be sure. At one point, after hours of refusing to show up, she reversed course and sent me a photo of herself outside my apartment building, claiming she would step in “if he was in danger,” a disingenuous and manipulative gesture considering the time she wasted. It felt personal, even retaliatory, and I was left with the growing sense that her behavior was not just careless but deliberately cruel. She showed no professionalism, no empathy, and no respect for the seriousness of caring for another person’s pet. I trusted her because I believed we had a shared background and values, but this experience taught me a painful lesson. If you love your animal and value their safety, I urge you not to book her. There was nothing humane, honest, or responsible about the way she handled this situation.
