Availability
I’m currently working part-time as a vet assistant over breaks and taking college classes mostly during the mid-day, which gives me plenty of time in the mornings, evenings, and weekends to care for pets. My flexible schedule makes it easy to fit in walks, drop-ins, and quality playtime

Since I live in an apartment, I care for pets in their own homes so they stay comfortable in a familiar space. Information Talya S. would like to know about your pet
Before watching a pet, I like to know a few key details to make sure they’re happy and comfortable. Things like their daily routine, feeding schedule, favorite toys or activities, and any special needs or quirks are super helpful. I also like to know how they do around other animals, their energy level, and if there are any commands or cues they respond to best. This helps me give them the best care possible while you’re away!
A typical day
When I’m watching animals, I love spending time playing with them, going on walks, and giving them plenty of attention and affection. I enjoy getting to know each pet’s unique personality, whether that means tossing a ball for an energetic pup, offering gentle pets to a shy cat, or just relaxing together. I also like taking photos and sharing fun updates with owners so they can see how their pets are doing

Pet care experience
I’ve cared for dogs my entire life and truly understand their needs at every age. I’ve walked a golden retriever professionally in La Crosse and have spent the last four years working as a veterinary assistant at Sandhill pet clinic, gaining hands-on experience with animal health, behavior, and care. Friends, family, and clients trust me to treat their pets like my own, with patience, love, and professional-level attention.

Reviews

Talya couldn’t have come into a much less ideal situation with my travel coming on short notice and Piper being practically comatose from her new meds. Talya took extreme care of my baby girl when she needed it the most and I’m so grateful for her stepping up and handling it with the utmost professionalism. Highly recommend

Talya was nice and reliable. I would recommend. She took good care of our three dogs and even took care of our guinea pigs as well while we were gone.
It has been a pleasure having Talya as part of our team since her high school days. From the beginning, she has shown compassion, a good work ethic, and an unwavering dedication to the care of our patients. Her love for animals is evident in everything she does-from supporting nervous pets to supporting their owners with kindness and understanding. We are so proud to have watched her grow into a skilled and caring vet assistant, and we know she will continue to make a difference wherever her career takes her.
