Pet care experience
Casual Cowboy and Dog Lover
I’ve been around dogs for as long as I can remember, but my experience really began when we moved to Colorado back in 2009. On a small plot of 5 acres my family kept dogs and horses, and as early as the age of 14 I was bucking hay not only for our animals, but for neighbors and family friends as well. I’ve taken care of dogs, horses, cats, chickens, ducks, goats and even alpacas! I have a soft spot for what some would consider „problem“ animals. As many pets as I have cared for I have yet to pick out one myself- they seem to find me. My current companion has a distant history of aggression and has bit me more than once in the past, but every day he makes me proud and proves to me that he was worth the patience. He hasn’t had an incident with aggression in over 4 years now! As a high-energy Husky breed he has pushed me to become more athletic to properly exercise him, and to invest time into learning how to communicate with dogs. Of the six queues dogs use to communicate (verbal, somatic, motion, location, eye contact and posture) his strongest is eye contact. In a game of charades, once he breaks eye contact I know I‘ve hit the mark, and he responds well on our walks to a tall, proud posture, tending to mimic with a cute little prance. I love my boy <3

Safety, trust & environment
I like to give time and attention to the animals I care for, more than just a quick visit, so I can come to know them. Plenty of care, play and exercise is my goal for walks and play dates.
Ratings and reviews
Talon is absolutely amazing I highly recommend

Talon is fantastic, highly recommend booking with him.

Talon was amazing. We had another pup sitter schedule but they backed out a week before our vacation. Talon stepped in and was perfect, sent us photos and updates daily, and kept our house safe and locked up just like we asked. Definitely going to reach out again the next time we need. Thank you Talon!

Talon took very good care of the pups and communicated well!

Talon was great, I highly recommend booking him for your pet sitting needs. He provided regular updates and really cares about the animals.

What I can say, Talon is the best person we met so far over here at Rover! He is calm, has great attention to the details, work well with our furry fellows, provided us some advices how to help our reactive dog, I can keep going and going with all good things. In short, we always hesitate when it comes to another dog sitter but if Talon will be providing service in the future - we wi be definitely in line to ask his help. Highly recommend if you need to have your pups been under great care!

Schedule
I prefer volunteer work and odd jobs to traditional employment, so my schedule varies greatly depending on demand. I might take a job tending to someone’s yard or garden, feeding and playing with their pets, or cleaning their home, so I am typically able to fit a visit in about every 4-6 hours. I prefer to hit the gym Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, and I walk my dog a minimum of twice a day, morning and night, which I will need to attend to if my roommate is unavailable. Otherwise I am available for visits, dog walks and house sitting any time or day of the week!
- Cats0 to 15 lbs16 to 40 lbs41 to 100 lbsTalon can host up to 3 drop-ins per day
- Please be ready to demonstrate your own style of handling and what commands you use to communicate with your dog. I‘d like to know their typical diet and how they behave around other dogs or cats.
