I'm currently working full time at a hospital, but have a couple days off weekly, so I'd like to help some folks out who might be working as well or going out of town and need someone to watch over their fur babies, whenever I have some free time. <3

Safety, trust & environment

I practiced "fear free" standards in my workspace and will apply those same standards to your furry family members if/when they need to be bathed, crated, fed, walked, etc. Regardless of how trained a pup or kitty is or if your property has a fence, I do not believe in leaving animals outside unsupervised, so they're always being looked after, even while they enjoy some sunbathing. I do everything in my ability to make sure every animal I come into contact with is as comfortable as they can be.

Information Tala C. would like to know about your pet

It's important that I know your pet's age, size, behavioral habits, and specific medical or behavioral needs. Below, I've included important things for me to know about your companion before I walk and interact with them. -How your dog/cat reacts to strangers entering the home (if I open your door, will they bark or charge toward me, carry a toy over, full-body wiggle, do they hide, etc.) -Whether or not they interact well in public, with kiddos, male-presenting people, other dogs, people wearing hats or masks, etc.) -If you want me to bathe them (and how they normally react to water or bathing) -If they need medications administered and how they need to be administered -Types of foods they eat and love, any dietary/treat restrictions or allergies -If they guard with toys, food/water, bowls, treats, etc. -How often and long you'd like them to be walked -Their favorite toys and type of play/exercise -If they have a very high prey-drive **Please also describe their style of play/greeting when it comes to other dogs they run into on walks or runs outside. (ex: Are they very forward and hyper, bounding everywhere and barking. Do they stiffen up and come off as avoidant at first, but warm up over time, etc. Do they consistently "chin-over" on other dogs and behave inappropriately toward them, etc.)

A typical day

Depending on your dog's age, energy level and mobility, I typically walk and/or run with dogs for about 20 minutes to an hour (depending on their needs and abilities). If your dog is comfortable in public settings, I will take them for a hike or sunny trail near your home, if there are any. If trails are unavailable, a long walk around the area you live in is normally what I go for. I'll play fetch with them, run with them, make food puzzles and scent-based enrichment puzzles for them to utilize while they're in the home, take them to dog parks (if appropriate) or sprinklers (provided it's warm enough outside) and much more! :)

Pet care experience

I recently transitioned from the Veterinary field to human medicine! My life revolves around the safety and well-being of furry friends and their families! I've previously worked in the Vet/Animal Welfare field for three years and have 2 cats myself. I've always loved animals, have taken care of strays outdoors, rescued pups stranded outside and dedicated my education and life to helping animals thrive. I'm trained in reading dog and cat behavior/body language and have completed a course on Animal Behavior and Welfare. I'm also certified in Pet First-Aid and CPR and eager to meet you and your companions!

Tala is the absolute best! She watched my reactive dog and he loved her! Will definitely rebook with her-so happy to find someone I can trust. Never had to worry about what was happening at home and could just trust it was all going okay.

Tala visited our cat daily for a week during our trip, sending photos every day. She was dependable, caring and affectionate toward the cat, who appeared to love her.

Tala is the absolute best. We will ask her to watch our three cats every time we need someone to watch them. She is obviously a cat lover and went out of her way to connect with each of them during her visits (and two of them are pretty suspicious!). She provided amazing thoughtful reviews and consistently gave updates. There was also a terrible ice storm and even though we told her it was fine not to go, she still braved the weather and checked on them. I can’t say enough good things about Tala and I highly recommend picking her to watch your cats. We will every time we can!!
