Availability

I'm a stay-at-home mom with 3 children. I often go on a walk in the morning for a hour. Your dog would be a welcome addition! I'm available on most weekdays and weekends. If I take care of your pet, I may run errands or run my kids to activities but will return home within a few hours. I usually spend most of the day at home. Your pet will have a lot of attention and love and won’t be left alone for long stretches of time.

Safety, trust & environment

We love to care for animals, but we love to have fun with them!! We love taking dogs on walks, playing fetch, and making obstacle courses (nothing dangerous, haha) for them in the fenced backyard. We like cuddling with pets and giving them food/water and treats. (If allowed by the owner.) We love to see animals happy, healthy, and having fun. My children are sweet, good-natured, and excited to have animals to love and care for. I teach them that sometimes animals need to take breaks and rest, like people. And other times they are ready to play and get exercise. I am always attentive to my children and the animals in our care. Dogs, if they prefer, can be in our fenced backyard during the day. My children will love to play fetch with your dog, or include your dog in imaginative play. Or if the dog prefers to be near me, I will let them follow me around the house during the day, or stay on a dog bed in our main family room. I can easily crate a dog if needed as well. At night, if the dog/cat prefers it, and we feel comfortable as well, your pet can curl up and sleep on a bed with a family member at night. I would keep fresh water, food, and a dog/cat bed out at all times. (Unless instructed otherwise by the owner on feeding.) At night, if it is a good fit for the dog, I would put the dog in our large bathroom on the main floor at night with their food/water and dog bed. They would be in there from 11 pm until 7:30 am. I would let them outside for potty breaks each morning first thing and throughout the day. Cats would be able to play and lounge around the main family room during the day. I would keep kitty litter, food, and water in our large bathroom, which they would have access to throughout the day. At night I would keep the cat in the large bathroom on their cat bed or towels.

A typical day

We love to go on an hour-long walk in the morning up to a large park. Your dog would be a welcome addition! Your dog could explore all around the park with us! We will keep your dog on a leash at all times. There is a dog drinking fountain at the park that would be perfect for your dog and we'd make sure to give your pet plenty of opportunities for a drink. We would walk home and have time to play in the backyard or lounge in the house. We love to have fun with your pets by playing games with them or letting them cuddle with us on the couch. We love cats and really enjoy taking care of them. My kids love using yarn or cat toys to engage cats in play. We love holding cats that want to snuggle.

Dogs love FUN, and so do we!!

Pet care experience

I, with the help of my 3 kids and husband, have fostered animals through the Humane Society of Utah several times, simply because we LOVE animals and my children have BEGGED for animals to care for! I grew up with dogs and cats. We really enjoy both dogs and cats! I had a small dog (Yorkie) for 12 years. When my dog was a puppy I took him to a dog training school where I learned how to handle him, get him to mind, sit, walk on a leash, and behave around other dogs and people. I also learned how to do his grooming/teeth care. He was my little companion for 12 years but he passed away in 2020. We have no other pets right now. I have watched friends'/family's pets several times while they were on trips. I'm comfortable administering medication to animals and taking care of senior animals, and those who need time/space to warm up to us and their new environment. For nervous animals, we take it slow and give them space. I love figuring out what makes your pet happy and doing that for them.

Tacy and her family cared for my 3 dogs with such genuine kindness and love. Every video and picture update showed how comfortable and welcome they were during their 10 day stay. I highly recommend Tacy if you’re looking for a home that will keep your woof family safe and happy.

The dogs had a great time at Tacy’s! She sent pictures and took great care of them while we were skiing.

Tacy was amazing with Chessie. I regularly received updates about hikes/walks she was doing and loving family attention she got from her and her kids. Thank you again!
