Hi! I'm Sylvia. My husband Scott and I share this account and are experienced design professionals who have worked on several dog-focused projects. We’re also the very proud grandparents of Lily, a senior toy poodle in Barcelona, and Julian, a mid-sized super-mutt on the Upper East Side. I’m a certified dog trainer (also check out my Rover training profile) and an active volunteer with local animal rescue groups. Our backgrounds include designing private dog parks and canine clothing, so we understand dogs from both a behavioral and lifestyle perspective. Because we travel often, we don’t have a dog of our own right now—but when we’re in NYC, we truly enjoy caring for other people’s pups. Our flexible schedules mean we can provide fill-in walks, companionship, structured play, and as much exercise as your dog needs. We only board one dog at a time, ensuring your dog gets our full attention. We’ll treat them like part of our family. We live in an elevator building very close to Astoria Park. Visiting dogs are welcome throughout the apartment and allowed on all the furniture—comfort encouraged!

Sylvia took great care of my dog Teddy! Visiting them is like visiting grandmas house :) They greeted him with open arms. She sent me constant updates and was very communicative. I would highly recommend and will be using Sylvia again for daycare/boarding.
Sylvia and Scott were absolute sweethearts! I'm so thankful that I found them! I had to leave Nobu (2 year old, labradoodle boy) for 2 weeks for the first time, they made sure my dog was comfortable with them before I left for my trip (by meeting up with them 3 times). They were loving, gentle and reliable, and took great care of Nobu by taking him to Astoria Park all the time (yup, it's a huge plus living so close to the park). Sylvia will send updates and pictures often and respond to any messages quickly. When I picked Nobu up after the trip, of course he was excited to see me but he was sad that he had to leave them, he liked them so much! So sweet, they even wanted me to think of them as Nobu's grandparents, I highly recommend these amazing sitters, would definitely ask them again!
Sylvia and Scott are wonderful! I know my little man is happy and well taken care of when they walk him. They're on time and always send me great pics of my pup from their walks.

Schedule
Our schedules allow us great flexibility and time to care for animals while we are in NY. Please note, we travel quite frequently and pet care is not our primary job so we are not well suited to provide daily walks on an ongoing schedule.

Safety, trust & environment
For boarding: we live in an elevator building very close to Astoria Park. With the exception of our terrace, dogs that board with us are allowed everywhere and on all the furniture (larger dogs can go on the terrace if you allow it). For drop-in visits and walks: we require a meet and greet for any pet we take care of and will carefully review and abide by your requirements for care in your home.
Pets
A typical day
Our home is adjacent to Astoria park and we take frequent walks in the park from as early as 6am to as late as 10pm. Dogs staying in our house are allowed everywhere and we encourage you to send as many of their favorite toys as possible to litter our floor.
