Pet Care with Sydney
Hi! My name is Sydney and I absolutely love animals! I have grown up in a home constantly surrounded by pets of all shapes, breeds and sizes. My family currently has 5 pets (3 dogs and 2 cat), 3 of which were rescues. Before these pets we had cats, dogs, and guinea pigs that have since passed as my life has gone on, leaving me with great memories and experiences to hold on to. I moved back home to Chicago 2 years ago and was previously living in NYC for 7 years where I was pursuing undergrad and graduate school. I am a dance teacher/coach for a studio within the northern suburbs. I used to attend Penn State University for my first 2 years of undergrad where I was a Veterinary and Biomedical Science major as well as an Animal Science major so I have some knowledge and education within those fields of study when it comes to animals. I graduated from NYU for undergrad and during my time there was a sitter for many animals. If you are a local pet owner in need of a responsible and experienced caretaker for their pet, I am your girl. I unfortunately cannot host your pets within my home, however, services that happen outside of the home are a-Ok! I love snuggling, playing and hanging out with animals. As a pet owner myself who used to use Rover for sitters with my late cat, Chloe, I know how important it is to trust the person who is caring for your animal in your home space. If you are in need of a caretaker, I know how hard it is leaving your pet, but I promise they will be in great hands!
Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
When I am in your home, I make sure to meet your pet where they are at and develop their trust to build a relationship with them. Before every booked service, I require a meet and greet or video call to meet you and your pet. During these meetings your pet can become familiar with me and we can go over all information about your pet and staying in your home. For house sitting specifically, I request an emergency contact and vet information in case of any emergency. I offer to take care of house upkeep as well while you are away (taking in mail, putting the trash out, cleaning the kitchen). For dog walking specifically, I will always have your dog on their leash at all times. I go over your dogs temperament with you at our meet and greet and discuss with you how they are around other animals, people and children. I am comfortable administering medicine if needed. If your animals behavior seems abnormal or any injury occurs, I will contact you immediately. I send lots of pictures to you with updates while you are away as I know when I used rover in the past for my cat, I was always cheered up to see how she was doing on the Rover app! I know it also can be relieving to know your animal is safe, healthy, and happy at the end of the day.

Sydney was fantastic with Nut and Scooby. It was great to have someone come in and check on the little fur babies so that they didn't have to be boarded at the vet for so long. Looking forward to traveling again as I'll request her services in a heartbeat!
Sydney was great caring for our dog. She sent updates and pictures which were nice to see. Everything was well cared for while we were away.

Pet care has become a full time business for me. Currently, my schedule revolves entirely around my clients needs and their pets schedules.
