First I make sure your pets are comfortable with me. I let them take it however slow they need. I let them come to me. I am VERY well versed in dog body language and can easily tell when a dog is uncomfortable. When I notice this, I help your dog feel more comfortable by removing whatever is making them uneasy. If I can’t seem to get on a dogs good side, I’m totally okay with that. Some dogs take time! I’m more than happy to take as long as they need to get used to me. I know how to take care of minor scratches or injuries, I can give medications, I know canine CPR, and I know how to do the canine Heimlich maneuver.

Information Sydney J. would like to know about your pet

I like to know how your dog does on leash. Does it pull? Does it lunge at other dogs/people/animals? Does it stay in a perfect heel? Does it chase cars? Does it eat grass or rocks? I want to know everything I can about how your dog acts on a leash for both mine and your dogs safety.

A typical day

I love making sure your dogs are as enriched as they can be. This means making sure stimulation is met for them. Mentally as well as physically. If your dog is only physically tired, they will sleep for an hour then be ready for everything you just did again. If you tire your dog out both mentally and physically, they can be set for the rest of the day. I like to exercise my dog physically once a day and mentally twice a day and for a high energy breed like her, it works. I will find what works best for your dogs (unless you already know!) I like taking dogs to parks to be able to smell and it’s good to train your dog around distractions! Parks are the perfect place for either a nice enrichment walk where they get to smell everything and explore, or for some really good training around distractions!

Pet care experience

Hello, my name is Sydney! I am an outgoing person who absolutely loves animals. I worked at a vet clinic for over three years working as an intern and learning under vet techs and veterinarians. I have been training dogs for 8 years. I have worked with reactive dogs, shy dogs, friendly dogs, dogs that pull, to dogs that can't interact with other dogs. I know how to use all the different kinds of training tools and walking tools necessary for a fun and enriching walk. I’ve house sat, trained, and walked dogs multiple times for friends, family, and neighbors and they always appreciate how above and beyond I go for their pets.

Sydney was amazing with my aggressive dog. She took the time and energy to work with him and earn his trust. By day two or three he was in her lap, kissing her and totally trusted her. She knew exactly how to handle him. I was very nervous on how it was going to go, but after watching their interactions on camera, I totally relaxed and was able to just enjoy my vacation.

Sydney was the best pet sitter! She was able to care for our two 50lb high-energy dogs, and our cat as well, for a week after our original sitter fell through. We can definitely say she is now our go-to house sitter! While with our dogs, she kept them mentally and physically engaged and they were better behaved after spending time with her amazing training! Sydney was able to read our dogs so well and understood their individual needs and triggers. She sent many photos and videos to keep us in the loop in how they were doing while we were gone. And we look forward to having her take care of them again in the future.

Sydney stayed with my senior dog (16 yr old beagle) at my house for two days and 1 night. She was very attentive to his schedule and routine and what made him most comfortable. She stayed home with him the whole time. She brought her dog who was incredibly well behaved and didn't bother my pup at all. I will definitely be using Sydney's dog sitting services again!

This girl could legit train your dog to do anything I swear. Her method is effective and keeps dogs motivated to listen. I’ve watched her train several dogs over the years
