Safety, trust & environment

I have had a variety of clients, from old dogs who just need companionship to young or behaviorally challenged dogs who need a little extra TLC. Each service is tailored for your pets age, energy level, and interests to ensure a high quality experience for pet and owner.

Information Sydney H. would like to know about your pet

I would love to know if your pet has any favorite motivators or have any special requests in terms of toys and access. If we are going to walk in a public place, it’s also beneficial to know about any behavior quirks and normal routines.

A typical day

I think a good walk or visit with your pet should be centered around engagement either with myself or the environment. I would love to play fetch, tug, set up some sniff games, or simply give them my undivided attention! My favorite place to take my own pets are the local trails where we can walk without interruptions and really get the most out of nature. Let me know your dog's favorite spots or activities!

Cat care experience

I am the only one in my family who is not allergic to cats, so most of my life I lived vicariously through others. I have found that cats are often misunderstood, and giving them the space to open up at their own pace is one of the most valuable strategies I have gained. In veterinary medicine I was constantly being faced with cats in difficult situations, and with that I had to learn to adapt quickly without stressing the cat or injuring myself. Handling pets in emergency situations is a fairly rare and difficult skill for a pet sitter to acquire, but it is a skill that will save their life.

We are so glad we found Sydney! Our dog doesn’t let just anyone care for her, so it was a huge relief when she warmed up to Sydney. Sydney is so knowledgeable, and you can tell she really cares about the animals she cares for. Loved all the pictures, and detailed updates we received when we were on our trip. Can’t recommend her enough. We will definitely be using her more in the future.

Thank you, so much Sydney. You were an excellent walker and caretaker for my dogs. Sorry I wasn't here at the end. My daughter was in the hospital far longer than expected. Hope this tip reaches you and you are happy in your new residence.
