About Sydney C.
Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets in their own home, I follow their usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. I make sure they have fresh food and water, a clean environment, plenty of attention, and playtime based on their needs and personality. For cats, I will clean litter boxes daily, monitor their behavior and well being, and spend quality time with them so they feel cared for while their owner is away. I can also provide updates and photos to keep owners informed and give them peace of mind.
Information Sydney C. would like to know about your pet
Before pet sitting, it’s important for me to get a clear understanding of the pet’s routine, needs, and any special instructions from the owner. This includes feeding times and portions, dietary restrictions, medications, exercise needs, and bathroom schedules. You should also ask about behavior quirks, such as anxiety, reactivity, or escape risks, as well as leash rules and training cues they already know. Knowing their veterinary contact information and emergency plan is essential in case something goes wrong. It also helps to understand house rules, crate use, toy safety, and what comforts the pet when they’re stressed so you can keep them safe, happy, and consistent while their owner is away.
A typical day
Lots of longer, sniff-focused walks and let the pet explore instead of rushing, play fetch, puzzle feeders for treats, grooming and brushing if they enjoy that, lots of petting and cuddling if the pet feels comfortable!
