Experienced Dog Handler

Hi! I'm Sydney Grace. I go by my middle name, Grace, but Rover won't let me change that haha. I have years of experience dog walking and a year of experience working at a professional doggy daycare. I have also been in service dog training programs in the past. If you're looking for someone you can trust who has experience giving medication, handling special food regimens, and is comfortable with dog behaviors, I'm the one for you! Worried about your dog trusting new people? I have experience working with dogs with PTSD, history of abuse, and shelter trauma. I believe in patience and letting them go at their own pace. I do not believe in forcing physical touch on a dog that has not given me cues of consent. However, I know how to hold my own when it comes to handling a dog with special needs. I will treat your dog right, but I will not let them push me around. Dogs will always test their limits with me and they learn very quickly that I'm the boss. It's important to me that I build a mutual respect bond with them and they enjoy themselves in the absence of their owner(s). My goal is to give your dog a seemless transition from owner to sitter/walker so they can continue to be happyand have some nomalcy despite their owner's absence.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on maintaining their usual routine to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I provide personalized walks, playtime, feeding, medication when needed, and lots of affection. During home visits or house sitting, I make sure the home stays tidy, prioritize any special instructions, and keep pet parents updated with photos and notes. My goal is to ensure your pets feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away. If you choose me to care for your fur baby, you won't feel guilty for being away. As a hobby photographer, I take and edit meaningful photos for my clients to make them feel connected to the joy and fun activities their dog is experiencing. On top of that, I try to be detailed in my notes during visits. I want my client to feel as though they were there.

Grace stayed at our house with Nova for over a week. She not only took great care of Nova and left house in great shape when we returned, but dealt with a power outage and some problems as a result. She communicated all issues and concerns with me throughout the week. She was also great about sending pictures and updates on how Nova was doing. Highly recommend!

Sydney (Grace) was incredible with our boy, Sonny! He can be a little reactive on leash sometimes, so we were a little nervous about who was caring for him. Grace went above and beyond to make us and Sonny feel comfortable. She sent updates and pictures every day. Sonny absolutely loves her! We would recommend her to anyone.

Definitely one of the best sitters I've ever had. Her response time was quick which I think is pretty important. She sent many many pictures of my dog and I didn't even have to ask her. She played with my dog which is also important to me. You can really tell she genuinely loves dogs. 5 stars without question!

I'm 26 years old working on master's degree. At the moment, I am only taking classes part time and my Rover business is my primary source of income. Pet care is a joyful part of my life—it's not just my job, it's part of my lifestyle. As a previous dog handler at a doggy daycare, I used spend my days managing group play, monitoring dog behavior, and ensuring each pup gets the attention and care they need. I enjoy a life filled with tail wags, muddy paws, and lots of cuddles. I’m used to early mornings, structured schedules, and adapting to the individual needs of different animals. Whether I’m in a doggy daycare or in someone’s home, I take pride in making pets feel safe, happy, and loved.

It’s important for me to know your pet’s routine, any medical needs, triggers (like other dogs, loud noises, etc.), and what they enjoy or dislike. I’d also love to know how they do on walks, how they react to strangers or other animals, and if they have any quirks or behaviors I should be aware of. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can tailor my care and keep your pet safe, happy, and stress-free.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
