Dog Loving Responsibile Lady

I adore dogs - the ultimate joy givers. I carry dog treats with me when I walk across Hampstead Heath every morning for my swim in the ponds there. I do always check first with the owners if their dog is allowed a treat. I have had a rescue dog in the past and would love another one but the timing isn't right to make a full time commitment at the moment, so Rover is perfect for me. I run 3 small music/arts organisations, one of which is a charity, and we're based in Soho. Dogs are welcome at our office. I'm mid/late 50's, car owner, home owner and lover of good walks, good food and good dog cuddles. My profile picture is with my friend's guide dog Ralph, who I walk with every morning on Hampstead Heath. I'm happy to follow guidance from an owner about how they would like their pet to behave e.g. not allowed on furniture etc. I'm also very patient and happy to work on any training your dog may need.

Schedule

I wake around 6am and pick up a friend and her guide dog and park near Hampstead Heath. We walk across the heath, giving Ralph a good run. We swim in the ponds whilst the dogs are safe and secure and head home, I'm back by about 8.15. I then head to my office in Soho by bus. I can walk some of the way, I have a park at the end of my road, and can take taking in other green spaces on the journey to allow for toilet breaks. There are green spaces near my office too for regular breaks and exercise - its also good for me to get away from my desk every so often. My journey home can take in the same green spaces and I will also get out for an evening walk.

Safety, trust & environment

Whilst I don't have a garden, I do have a balcony. I have owned a rescue dog in this flat before. I am happy to abide by instructions from owners about preferred behaviour e.g. sleeping on the bed or not or being on furniture. I live on my own with a lodger 2 nights a week, who is also dog friendly.

A typical day

I love a good walk every morning - I walk briskly and take in hills so its great exercise. I understand the importance of a dog being able to take its time to sniff and pick up scent too. I love a good ball game too as well as tug of war. Play is so important to dogs and even when I'm at the office there are games and stimulation we can do to keep a dog happy.
