Retired vet tech, top notch care!
I was a vet tech/manager for 25 years, retired now but miss caring for others fur babies! Experience with professional dog training as well. I am able to provide not only general drop-in visits/ walking, but have the experience to care for difficult pets, exotics, farm animals, and animals needing medications including insulin and SQ fluids. I am extremely patient and truly care about each pet and their wellbeing, even those pets that don’t care to make new friends. I view my job as making any situation that may be stressful as pleasant for the pet as possible, and any pleasant experience as rewarding for the pet as possible! I am very flexible, if your pet enjoys walks, playing in the yard, or cuddles and belly rubs, my role is to do what makes them happy. I am able to provide some general grooming- bathing, nail trims, and anal gland expression may be possible on a case-by-case basis. I also have a green thumb, so can water plants/ harvest veggies if requested.

We have left our senior fur babies in Suzy’s care several times and have never felt more confident when out of town. They are so much more comfortable in their own environment, so in-home pet sitting is absolutely the way to go - and Suzy is simply amazing!

Schedule
I currently have dogs, cats, chickens, goats, and horses. Most of my time is spent taking care of my own pets, therefore have an extremely flexible schedule and can work around your pets needs! Bathing/grooming is pet by pet basis, includes bath, nail trim, anal gland expression. Pricing reflects this, rate changes if not all services requested. Body clips also available!

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fenced farm to provide room for playtime/exercise/ room to run. Dogs with social skills may be provided playtime with my dog, at my discretion. Farm animals? No worries! I can feed/water/hay and am knowledge in what to watch for and handling farm animals if you have horses that also need turnout etc. Often times pets are more comfortable in their own homes, I am able to provide boarding care including staying overnight in your home, or drop in visits late night/early morning to keep their normal schedule.

A typical day
Mental and physical stimulation is paramount to a pets’ wellbeing, I incorporate both during the care of your pet! I provide a mix of leashed walks around the neighborhood, playtime with toys (and my socially appropriate dog(s) at my discretion), a Kong for quiet time, food puzzles, as well as relaxed long line walks at the farm. With my background in dog training, I also work on positive reinforcement general communication like walking without pulling, auto sit when we stop on walks, etc. Specific communication requests can be worked on during my visits as well! I use lots of treats/verbal praise and focus on teaching the dogs what I’d like them to do, instead of what they shouldn’t do!
