Empty Nester to Love Your Fur Baby!
I have had a variety of pets since I was a little kid, and have always been very involved in their care- my special love is large dogs. I am experienced with training young dogs- it was my job as a teenager to take my young Bouvier to obedience school in the park- we graduated! My family has always been very pet oriented, and in recent years, I made sure my elderly mom had pets in our home- they complete the family. She has passed on to be with our fur babies who left before her, and now I’d love to host and care for your pet!

Suzanne was very flexible/understanding with our seven month pup. She sent videos throughout our trip, which made it really easy not to worry while we were gone. She accommodated for our pup’s needs and made sure she was cared for in every way!

Suzanne was wonderful. It is easy to see how much she loves animals. She provided a number of updates throughout Charles' stay and sent videos. I will use her again in the future and highly recommend.

Suzanne was great! She worked around our crazy schedule and Kitty (the dog) was her #1 priority. Highly recommend and we will use again in the future.

Suzanne is a kind ,compassionate animal lover and life -long equestrian. We have had numerous breeds in our family from Bouviers to Labs-Afghans and their precocious feline counterparts. Suzanne has always bonded and managed their care. Her decades bond with her horse while caring for other horses and becoming an accomplished rider throughout college at Sweetbriar and to this day, has always been Suzanne' passion and has required a whole other level of expertise, dedication understanding and experience which sets Suzanne apart as a Rover Sitter.
I had the pleasure of meeting Suzanne when she and her mother adopted a Bouvier De Flanders I was fostering for American Bouvier Rescue. Suzanne drove from Virginia to my home in Pennsylvania to met and get Moses. It was love at first sight. Suzanne kept in touch with me letting me know how Moses was doing. She often took him for car rides and visiting other places together. I found Suzanne a very caring person who loves animals. She even found small frogs in her back yard and took care of them. She also has the love for horses and enjoys riding them.Moses came from an abusive place but Suzanne turned him around with her care and love for him. She changed his name to Luke and gave him a new happy home. I think Suzanne would be an asset to your organization. I wish the best for you all. Carole
I have known Suzanne since we were freshmen at Sweet Briar College in 1987, and while we did not share any academic classes we did ride horses together. Suzanne had brought her horse, Nugget, with her to college, and it was apparent right away that she loved, respected, and admired Nugget deeply. We kept in touch after college, so I got to hear about Nugget's last years, which Suzanne made sure were happy, comfortable ones. She cared for him like a beloved family member. When Suzanne got a dog, I saw the same spirit of deep caring I had witnessed with her horse. She obviously takes no short cuts, ever, in caring for an animal in her charge. Even the tiny frogs living in her backyard have received her tender loving care. I would feel completely comfortable -- and lucky -- to have Suzanne care for my dogs, and in fact I have left my human children with her for a long weekend, which should prove how much a trust her!

Schedule
I work based from home, about 35 hours a week. But, it’s very flexible work, as I do not clock in and out, and so am quite available throughout the day for play and walkies. I do leave the house 2-5 hours per day for work and errands, typically in the afternoon. This is also flexible , and can be adjusted as needed.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I have a large, unfenced yard for quick leashed potty breaks-but I’d be doing regular walks around my quiet, semi-rural neighborhood. My next door neighbor has a big fenced yard and a tween boy who loves dogs, but doesn’t have one- so that is available if you like! If your dog likes to ride in the car, I’d love to take him to Sweet Briar College campus for big nature walks, with bonus cuddles from the adoring students. I primarily can offer leashed walks. I do have a large crate if it’s something your dog requires.
