Emotional Support Human

Growing up, my family owned a behemoth: a 60 pound standard poodle. He blessed our lives for 12 wonderful years. I currently am a cat mom, (a little different than being a poodle sister), so I understand how finding the best care for your animals takes priority.

Absolutely the best pet sitter in Portland! If you're new to Rover or looking for a new sitter, look no further. Suzanne was amazing and handled everything with utmost professionalism. I've never seen anyone care for Odin's needs as much as Suzanne did. She kept me updated, ensured Odin stayed active, and gave me the peace of mind to enjoy my time with my family without worrying about Odin. I have nothing but praise for Suzanne—she was fantastic, and Odin misses her already!

House Sitting • Jun 26, 2024

Suzanne was absolutely fantastic! She did an overnight with my two pups and took amazing care of them and put my mind to ease. She picked up on both their personalities right away and the pups loved her from the first meet and greet. I really appreciated all the pictures and updates. I could tell the pups were very happy and relaxed. She gave them lots of snuggles and ball time, their two favorite things 💘 She also took excellent care of the house as well. I highly recommend her!

Schedule

I'm Suzanne, a fully vaccinated New York City native living the Pacific Northwest dream. Running an animal adventure program is my main profession. This means that I take animals all over Portland, using safe personal transportation, to play in parks and take on walks. I have experience working with animals of all kinds, including bunnies, goats, sheep, chickens, frogs, tortoises, geckos, and even snails. I also work with animals that have different needs. For example, I cared for a dog during the final week of her pregnancy and assisted in delivering her puppies. I have prior experience working as a pet supervisor and kennel cleaner at doggy daycares all over the northwest. I am willing to take that extra step in order to make sure your furry family receives the love and care that they deserve.

Safety, trust & environment

Boarding is typically a 24/7 booking. It goes against policy to leave an animal unattended in my apartment so where I go they go. There are certain exceptions: for example if your dog is a senior dog who cannot join me on daytime bookings due to their physical challenges, then I will leave them for 3-4 hours max (worst case scenario). For housesitting, client privacy takes priority! It is my responsibility to care for your animals, your home, and your property. It goes against policy to share your personal information like your address with others. It is also against policy to bring guests into your home. Finally, it goes against policy to bring other animals onto your property. Should you be a plant parent and need someone to water your plants while you’re away, you can count on me. I’ll also make sure your mail and packages are brought in and wheel out garbage bins on garbage days. You are not responsible for feeding me so don’t feel obligated to leave me snacks or food (although that is greatly appreciated). If you have cheese in your fridge, be aware that I may take a few slices because I really like cheese.

Pets

A typical day

Your animals will get a lot of exercise and will sleep well at night under my care. I live in an apartment in North Portland near the Mississippi District and close to a wide selection of dog parks. We try to avoid mud puddles and stick to parks that I'm already familiar with.

Your pet's safety is my number 1 priority along with the safety of other people’s pets. I live in an animal friendly building and am a cat mom so if you choose to book me for boarding, it would be ideal that your pet be comfortable with other animals. If I need to leave your fur babies alone, I try to keep my time away to a maximum of 4 hours so that they don't get bored or lonely. Your animals are safe with me!
