Safety, trust & environment

I am able to be present in my client's home throughout the day and night, available to your pet(s) as needed. I enjoy taking them for walk, playing with them and cuddling with them. I'm generally good with letting them sleep with me, depending on their size and temperament.

Information Suzanne R. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know the temperament of the dog and the degree of training the dog has received. I would want to continue the training in my interactions with the dog for consistency. I would also want to know the dog's likes and dislikes; any triggers that might create aggressive behavior and how to best protect the dog and others when encountering various circumstances. I don't have breed preferences; however, I would be uncomfortable sitting/walking a very aggressive large dog.

A typical day

Depending on the dog and the client's preferences, I will walk the dog in the neighborhood or in a nearby park. I'll play fetch with the dog in a dog park or other fenced-in area. I often get down on the floor with my dogs and play tug of war using a dog rope or one of their favorite toys. I enjoy cuddling with dogs, talking to them and letting them know how much they are loved. When my clients return, they find their house in order, with the sheets washed and returned to the bed. I know how it feels coming back from a trip and finding your house in need of cleaning and beds re-made. All of that will be done for you when you return. I'm also happy to water plants and run errands for you while you are away. I work from home and my hours are flexible and that enables me to help my clients as needed while they are away.

Pet care experience

Hello. I am a lifelong dog owner and dog carer. I have owned a Brittany Spaniel, and a Shischon from puppy-stage through the end of their lives. Currently I care for a senior Lab and middle-aged German Shephard/Rotweiler mix, both belonging to my daughter who lives in Jacksonville with her husband and my 18-month old grand-son with another expected in November. I've been a Rover client and sitter off and on since 2018. I've not been active for almost 5 years during which time I've worked as a freelance researcher on almost a full-time basis. The demand for that work is shifting and I want to return to dog/house-sitting to supplement my income. I am comfortable walking, visiting and house-sitting small- and medium-size dogs, including senior dogs, and am experienced with giving medicine. I have a BS in Business Administration and 30+ years of work experience in the legal services industry. I am a mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. I love to walk outside, grill, and sit beside a fire. I'm an SEC fan, so fall is my favorite time of year! I want to acknowledge the one negative client review regarding a client's senior dog. I was hired for drop-in visits . I let time get away from me for two visits. One of the things that Rover does well is notify dog owners know when their sitter/carer is onsite. The owner notified me when I did not arrive within a reasonable time of the scheduled time and I immediately went to the client site. The dog was fine but the owner was obviously alarmed and terminated the relationship. I take full responsibility for those lapses and they will not happen again. I ask for the opportunity to meet you and your pet and discuss if this is a good fit for us all. Kind regards, Suzanne

Sadly disappointed as Suzanne had previously taken care of our Baby Girl...she forgot her on one visit and reminded her the next time giving her another try. Unfortunately, after an hour, I had to remind Suzanne of my booked services.

Suzanne is a wonderful dog sitter and is absolutely our first choice when needing someone to care for our dog. She takes amazing care of our GSP and treats her as if she Is her own. There is no doubt that she doesn’t love our dog and our dog is always excited to see her! She is very dependable and we don’t worry a bit about our dog when she is in Suzanne’s care. Our dog has health issues and Suzanne makes sure meds are administered and keeps our dog on her strict diet. I highly recommend Suzanne and really cannot say enough good things about her love for our dog and animals in general.

Suzanne has done drop in visits for our dog several times now and we are nothing but pleased with her! She is excellent at keeping in touch and always sends us pictures. She varies whether they played fetch outside together or went for nice walk. Philly loves her and so do we!

Suzanne is reliable and trustworthy. I appreciated the check-ins and photos from her visits. It gave me peace of mind while I was traveling. I definitely recommend!
