Pet care experience

Craig and I have had a dogs since age ten. As an adults, we have continued to always have a dog (Spike, 7 lb). We also foster for Bonaparte's Retreat, 42 dogs and counting over the past 22 years. We have fostered special needs (blind, deaf, surgery recovery, special medical needs: pill schedule. We only take small/med breeds. Never more than 2-3 dogs at one time. We like them to have plenty of individual care and attention. They have the run of the house. We are retired and home with our pet guests. We have 5 acres for long walks and a large fenced in back yard. We even have a ramp for pups with issues going up/down stairs to the back yard. Staying with us is like going to Gramma's for the weekend. (some even choose share our bed at night, and that is ok)

Suzanne has fostered dozens of dogs for the rescue where I volunteer. She has taken in dogs young and old, with a variety of temperaments and all sorts of medical issues. She even fostered a pregnant pup and helped her not only through the birth but also with the tiny puppies until they were ready to be adopted. Suzanne got very little sleep during that time, but that entire little family thrived in her care. I always know that when a dog is going to her for foster, the dog has hit the jackpot. They will be loved and cared for as if they were her own.

Suzanne is truly one of the best dog caregivers you could ever hope to find. She and her husband are incredibly kind, with enormous hearts and a genuine love for animals that shows in everything they do. She fostered our dog Winston for six months before we adopted him, caring for him through multiple surgeries. Even after we brought him home, Suzanne continued to dogsit for us whenever we traveled, and Winston was always overjoyed to see her. Her home is warm, welcoming, and full of love - exactly the kind of environment you want for your pet. I cannot recommend Suzanne highly enough to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dedicated dogsitter.

Suzanne takes great care of my pups. Although my dogs are very good natured- they have low to mid-level anxiety when they get out of their routine and away from their people. This is concerning for me, yet, Suzanne did a fabulous job when she kept them for a week while we were away. They were happy and relaxed and that made me happy and relaxed! Another thing that I really like is that, for the most part, she does not keep other dogs when she has my two. In the past, other sitters have had many dogs and this adds to the anxiety level of my animals significantly. So – this general practice of hers is something I really like. She has a very nice, dog friendly property where they can be outdoors and remain safe.

Suzanne is an exceptional dog sitter. She is the ultimate dog mom, and any dog in her care is in the most attentive and capable hands. The updates she provides give you peace of mind while you’re away, and you will return home to a happy, well-cared-for pup. I would wholeheartedly recommend Suzanne to anyone looking for a loving, thoughtful, responsible and trustworthy sitter. 🐾
