Susanna can care for
Availability
Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I already structure my day around being active and spending time outdoors. On weekdays, I’m typically available early in the morning before 9 a.m. and again in the evenings after 5 p.m., which works well for consistent walks, feedings, and check-ins. I like starting and ending my day outside, so incorporating dog walks or cat care visits into those times feels very natural and enjoyable for me. Living near the Ecusta Trail also makes it easy for me to take dogs on longer, enriching walks as part of my regular routine. As a graduate student, my schedule is flexible, and I’m able to plan my day around pet care commitments. On weekends, I generally have open availability, which allows me to provide more extended visits, extra walks, or more time for pets who need additional attention. Since I already care for my own cat daily, pet care is not something I “fit in”—it’s already part of how I live. I’m used to being consistent, attentive, and responsible with feeding schedules, litter box care, exercise, and companionship.

Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine consistent and stress-free by closely following all instructions for feeding, walks, litter box care, medication, and any special needs. For dogs, I provide walks and exercise based on their energy level, whether that’s relaxed neighborhood strolls or longer outings on nearby trails. I prioritize safety, attention, and positive interaction. For cats, I take a calm, patient approach and adjust to their personality—some want play and attention, while others prefer quiet space. I always ensure they have fresh food and water, clean litter boxes, and a comfortable environment. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and well-being and communicate regularly with updates and photos so owners feel confident and at ease while away. My goal is to care for every pet as thoughtfully as I would my own.
Information Susanna L. would like to know about your pet
Before heading out on a walk, it would be helpful to know how your dog typically behaves around other dogs on walks (friendly, neutral, or reactive)?
A typical day
With dogs, I focus on activities that match their energy and personality. I enjoy going on walks, exploring different routes, and taking advantage of nearby trails like the Ecusta Trail for longer, more enriching outings. For higher-energy dogs, I’m also happy to go on light runs or incorporate more active play to help them burn energy in a fun, healthy way. For dogs who prefer a slower pace, I make sure walks are still engaging with plenty of time to sniff, explore, and enjoy their surroundings. I also enjoy basic playtime like fetch or tug, depending on what each dog likes. For cats, “fun” looks more low-key and comfort-based. I like engaging them with toys if they’re interested, and giving them space to interact on their own terms. I also make sure they have a calm, enriching environment with attention when they want it and quiet when they don’t. Overall, I tailor activities to each pet’s personality so they feel happy, safe, and comfortable while still getting what they need.

By Day Two, We're Besties 🐾
Pet care experience
Hi! I'm Susanna, and by day two I'm usually besties with your pet. When I'm not spending time with animals, I'm a graduate student in landscape architecture and currently interning at Watermark Landscape Architecture and Land Planning. I love being outdoors, staying active, and connecting with nature—which is one of the reasons I love caring for pets. Whether your dog enjoys a leisurely stroll or needs to burn off energy with a run, I'm happy to match their pace (I'll always go the extra block for them!). I live right by the Ecusta Trail, so daily walks are already part of my routine. I'm friendly, responsible, reliable, and will treat your pet like one of my own. I currently have a 4-year-old indoor/outdoor cat, and I grew up with dogs, so I know how much they become part of the family. I miss having dogs around and would love the chance to get to know yours! I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, and I'm happy to follow any care instructions to help them feel comfortable while you're away. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands. My schedule is very flexible. I'm available before 9:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, and I'm generally available throughout the weekends. I'd love the opportunity to meet you and your furry family—I can't wait to become your pet's new favorite friend!

Reviews

Was very nice. Charlie is a load and sometimes hard to handle. She was happy and anxious to meet him. Overall I will use her again, and would definitely recommend Susannah.

Susanna did an awesome job. I was able to enjoy my vacation much more knowing my pup was in good hands. Regular updates and she took my rather detailed instructions to heart. Would definitely use again.

Susanna has been a huge help with our pup, Charlie. Fully recommend her services!

I would highly recommend Susanna as a pet sitter! Susanna promptly replied to my request for a meet and greet when a last minute trip occurred and needed to leave my previous loved one for few days! She was also flexible with drop of and pick up time and was available to responde and provide updates throughout the on boarding time! Thank you Susanna for accommodating your time and provide a loving and safe environment!
