Safety, trust & environment

Your pets needs and safety, both physical and mental, are my priority. I closely monitor the animals in my care at all times to be sure they’re comfortable and secure. Enrichment and positive reinforcement are vital for happy, healthy pets.

Information Susan S. would like to know about your pet

Is your dog current on vaccinations? Does your dog have any allergies or sensitivity to food or environmental conditions? What preferences does your dog have about, people, other dogs, toys or games or environments? What are your goals for your dog?

A typical day

Enrichment is key to meeting dog needs. Many behaviors we don’t appreciate in our dogs are due to unmet needs the dog has. Sniffing, shredding, moving, rolling, digging, exploring, playing - many dogs who live with us are not able to get these needs met and that sometimes exhibits as “difficult” behaviors. I love to help dogs meet their needs with fun activities and exercises for their mental and physical wellbeing. Moving out on a long line, exploratory walks, tug games, hide and seek - are all part of a fun day out.

Rather it be walking, watching or training by dog, I know I can always depend on Susan to provide the best care possible. Susan is professional who provides compassion along with the skills you need to be able to be successful with you dog. I have been very pleased and fortunate to work with such a wonderful Pet trainer and pet sitter.

Susan has an impressive knowledge of what really works for training your dog along with an intuitive sense of what your dog is thinking/feeling and the steps to take to get the right behavior while respecting your dog’s instincts; using those instincts to reinforce positive behavior. She was great with my dog, Sadie, and her suggestions helped me gain the confidence to reinforce the right behaviors in order to expect positive long-term results. My dog loved spending time with her too! She has a natural affinity for dogs and that was clear from our first interaction.
