I started volunteering at a pet shelter when I was 13, and I’ve been caring for animals ever since. Family and friends have trusted me with their pets for years, and I’ve gained hands-on experience through petsitting, volunteering, and caring for my own animals—which has been the best learning experience of all. I share my home with three rescue pets: two husky mixes and a special-needs cat. Both of my dogs came from severe cases of fear and reactivity, so I know firsthand how overwhelming life with a reactive dog can be. If you’re still in the trenches, I’d love to help. I’ve also volunteered with multiple rescues and have experience working with nervous, reactive, and disabled dogs. Every pet is different, and I approach each one with patience, compassion, and understanding. While I have more experience with dogs, I’ve become a huge cat fan, too! I was severely allergic to cats growing up until I completed years of allergy shots. Since then, I’ve discovered just how wonderful they are, and I’d love the chance to spend time with yours.
