I own a pet sitting and dog walking business. So my days are full of pups all around town. I get to give lots of attention and explore neighborhoods. And an added bonus for some days includes meeting new kitty friends

Sometimes it’s cuddle time and belly rubs; other times it’s straight to the leash and time for a walk. When the weather is not ideal for the pup walks, we play with toys. I 100% let the cats I check in on dictate what attention they would like, whether it’s just being present, giving some rubbin’s, or playing with string

A typical day
With all the pups I watch, I try to make sure they’re stimulated enough to be ready for a nap time. We go on walks, runs, play catch or chase for physical and mental exertion. There’s a super fantastic toy that’s like the teaser cat toy that’s one of my favorites to play with

Every cat and dog I care for gets their photo taken on every visit; and it's sent to their owner. I like to walk and run with dogs. Fetch and tug of war are my favorite games to play. When lounging and cuddling are requested, I cuddle up and watch tv or listen to podcasts while pets are freely given. I always let the pet decide how much contact they prefer. Many cats I care for only want acknowledgement and love, not full on play time. I've cared for cats and dogs, both my own and those with other owners, for over 13 years. The dogs I've boarded and cared for range from 11 pounds to 65 pounds. I've visited and worked with dogs being fostered out of rescues to help them be more comfortable around people. The cats I care for range in age, size, and temperament. I work with them on their comfort level. My schedule is super flexible as I am in town for a long visit
