It brings me great joy to care for animals. I love rescues, seniors, energetic animals, loafers and grumpy pets. I refer to all dogs as puppies. I see the puppy in them always, even the grumpy ones. With a scared or unsure dog, I don’t try to make friendship happen. I’m happy to simply be with them, provide comfort and let them decide when we’re buddies. I worked for several years at a local veterinary practice and about two years in an emergency veterinary hospital, working with a wide variety of dogs, cats and birds. I’ve also had dogs and cats throughout my life, including adult rescues. I also have farm-sitting experience caring for chickens, ducks, geese, quail, rabbits, turtles, pigs, sheep, goats and turkeys. I’ve spent time around cattle, zebras, donkeys and horses as well and am always open to learning and expanding my experience.

Susan, “Goldie”, is a very tender hearted and caring friend. Goldie will always go the extra mile for you. I do not have a dog, I’m a cat person, but I have seen Goldie with her dog and other dogs, and she is totally dedicated to her pups. If I needed a pet sitter, she is the lady I’d call - even for my cat! She is also a very loyal and trustworthy woman.
I have had the pleasure of working with Goldie at two different jobs, and over the years, our professional relationship has grown into a wonderful friendship. I can honestly say that she is one of the most kind, dependable, trustworthy, and caring people I know. Goldie has always had an incredible love for animals. She has previously had jobs where she worked with animals, and I know that her compassion and natural ability to connect with animals stood out. She has a special way with dogs that is hard to put into words, I like to refer to her as a “dog whisperer.” Dogs love being around her as much as she loves being around them. She is also a devoted dog owner herself and absolutely adores her Golden Retriever, Brisco. Her love and dedication to animals is evident. She treats every animal as if it were her own. Beyond her experience with animals, Goldie is someone I would trust completely. She is responsible, reliable, honest, and thoughtful, and I know she takes any responsibility given to her very seriously. If I ever needed someone to care for my dog, she would be one of the first people I would call. I cannot recommend Goldie highly enough. Anyone who has the opportunity to have her care for their pet can feel confident knowing their dog is in the most loving and trustworthy hands.
I have known Susan for over 20 years. She is an amazing friend and one of the kindest souls I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She has always had pups and they are the center of her world. Taking care of them and giving them their best life is her mission. Susan is the perfect person to care for your animals. Her heart is so full of love to give!!

Schedule
My schedule is currently very flexible, with plenty of room in my day for the dogs in my care. Our days naturally include outside time, walks, play, meals, companionship and plenty of time to relax. I’m happy to adjust that rhythm around what your dog is accustomed to at home.

We have a spacious fenced-in backyard and one friendly, active senior pup who enjoys having company. I’ll learn your dog’s normal routine, what they enjoy, what makes them nervous and any little quirks that help them feel comfortable. I’m happy to follow their normal feeding, sleeping and crate routine if they have one. Ours is a genuinely animal-friendly home where furry friends are welcome to get comfortable, including on the furniture and bed.

A typical day
I’m happy to meet a dog at their definition of fun, whether that’s a good walk or run in whatever weather the day brings, playing in our spacious fenced-in backyard with our friendly senior pup, gearing up for fun in the snow, or spending an afternoon perfectly content to loaf around together. Improving an animal’s day genuinely improves mine.
