I have a fully fenced back yard, a dog run for their business, and a big dog bed in my living room. I have plenty of sanitized toys. Basically my home is set up to share with dogs. Unfortunately, my last baby crossed the rainbow bridge last September so I’m taking this opportunity to care for yours.

Information Susan G. would like to know about your pet

I am experienced with special needs, senior dogs and very active pups. I volunteered for years at the EBSPCA, and still take shelter dogs out for hikes, so I’ve worked with all different breeds, quirks and personalities. I’m super fit so strong dogs are fine for me. Please let me know about any reactivity, jumpiness, separation anxiety or anything else I need to know to take great care of your baby.

A typical day

I love taking dogs up to Redwood Regional Park, which is 95% canopied—super important when it’s warm. Oyster Bay is another great spot, especially if your dogs are allowed off leash. Lake Merritt is perfect for social dogs and even my neighborhood is lovely.

Big dogs? Big love!

Pet care experience

Gentle (or jumpy!) giants are my specialty. I’ve spent the last 15 years sharing my life with Bullmastiffs, Dogues de Bordeaux and Cane Corsos from puppyhood to passing. Medium dogs are great but the big boys and girls are my heart. All ages welcome. My home is 100% set up for dog life.

We had a great experience with Susan. Despite having a shy pup who is prone to anxiety and dog reactivity, our pup was able to come out of her shell almost immediately with her. Susan let her have the run of the house and even asked if she would like to sleep on her bed. She had a little grass patch in her backyard which was sufficient for our pup to go potty in. She updated us with photos and videos of Shorty laying on her lap- Thank you Susan! Will definitely book again when we go out of town.

Susan took wonderful care of our dog Mikasa. As a rescue, Mikasa needs time, patience, and understanding to get comfortable with new people, and Susan handled this beautifully. She carefully followed all the instructions we provided and approached Mikasa with so much patience and determination that, by the end of the stay, they had truly become best friends. While we were abroad, Susan kept us updated every single day with photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind knowing Mikasa was in such good hands. She also made sure Mikasa received her medication and paid close attention to her needs. What meant the most to us was how much effort Susan put into building trust with Mikasa respecting her boundaries, letting her set the pace, and helping her gradually gain confidence. Seeing Mikasa relax, play, and bond with her was incredibly reassuring. We're very grateful for the care, dedication, and love Susan showed Mikasa. We would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and attentive sitter.

Susan was friendly, responsible, and super communicative. I felt completely at ease the whole time, and our pup came home so happy and relaxed. We would absolutely book with her again!

Susan has always cared for animals better than anyone I’ve ever seen. Susan had a special needs dog that needed daily meds and support and she always put their needs first. Her dogs were the most well behaved and loved dogs, and she always had so much love to give to them! She bonds with any dog so quick, they love her energy and her vibe. She is so dedicated when it comes to dogs it’s truly amazing, and she still has so much love to give to any pup she comes across. Anything they need from walks, hikes or just unconditional love, she is the woman!
