We've been having our dogs watched by people we know personally and via Rover, and unfortunately this was our least satisfying experience. Which came as a surprise given all the positive reviews we had seen. First, just two days into her week of staying at our house to watch our dog, at some point in the night our dog must have got up and left the room and pooped on our living room rug. She notified us of this and then we began scrambling from where we were in Switzerland to find a local cleaner who could come and pick up the rug and clean it. After calling numerous places we finally found one and let her know they would arrive in 30 minutes. About 40 minutes later we received a response including that she was "disappointed regarding our recent messages" and that "a few kind and compassionate words would be greatly appreciated." This was bewildering to us as our only messages had been about getting information about the rug and then trying to coordinate its pickup. The idea that in that moment she saw it as a primary necessity to tell her what a great job she was doing is something we have never had to deal with when communicating with our sitters. We also had selected on the booking and mentioned in person that we'd love getting at least a photo every day. In the week she was there to watch our dog, we received 3 photos, and three consecutive days went by without either a photo of any type of update at all - we eventually had to prompt to receive an update the third day, after which the entirety of the update we received on our dog was that "[he] is great" with no photo. Once we had landed we saw a message waiting for us saying she wanted to leave a couple hours before we got home. We said we would greatly appreciate it if she could wait until we got back so someone would be with our dog, she replied an hour later saying she had just seen our message and had already left. We have never had to beg with a sitter to stay with our dog until we got back, and certainly never had them not wait for our response to decide to leave. When we told Susan we thought that was not a great decision, she told us "People don’t ask dog sitters to stay the entire time for 2.08 a hour. You are ridiculous." When we got back home, in addition to our soiled living room rug, we found our bedroom rug soiled (which had to be thrown out), two pee puddles on the floor, the bedroom sheets with a vomit or excrement stain, and the trash piled so high our trash can couldn't close. The whole experience felt incredibly disrespectful to our house, our Zeus, and us, and we would not consider using her services again.

Susan took good care of Nala and Bean! We appreciated all the pictures and would happily book with Susan again!

Susan was outstanding! Regular communication, very understanding and patient with my elderly dog, and Luna left happy and healthy. Thank you Susan!

Susan housesat with my quirky cattle dog Nizhoni for 2 weeks. He’s a shy 5 year old, 54 lb rescue from New Mexico, who is sweet, but wary of new people. Susan bonded with him quickly on our meet and greet. She’s terrific - a true dog whisperer- very caring and competent. He was o relaxed and happy in the photos and video she sent me. I’m so grateful to her for taking such good care of my boy!

Susan took excellent care of my Boston Terrier, Max, while I was away for the holidays. He has not dtsyed away from home in a long time, so I was concerned about how he would do, but he settled right in. Thanks, Susan.

Susan is great with our dog Pepper! She sends updates about each walk and is very flexible in her schedule which has been very helpful. I’d highly recommend her!
