Since I work from home, pet care is a natural fit. It is a pleasure for me to have dogs and cats around to keep my home/work environment entertaining and to know I'm helping someone else at the same time who loves their pet(s).

Safety, trust & environment
My back yard is fenced. It's not big but it's not tiny either. I like keeping the animals inside mostly, but take regular breaks to sit outside with them. I do not leave them outside unattended. For overnight stays, I'm flexible as to where they sleep. If they like to sleep in their own bed or a crate, bring it. If they prefer to sleep on the floor or even a bed or couch, I'm OK with that too. Just as long as they aren't destructive, it's all good. I live on a circular street with low traffic and sidewalks, so for dogs who like walks or need exercise, I am happy to give them a 10-15 minute walk around the neighborhood a couple of times a day.

Information Susan B. would like to know about your pet
I am unable to take dogs who do not like cats or have previously shown any aggressive tendencies toward other animals. I only keep one dog at a time (unless from the same family) but I do have two cats who I adore and need to keep safe from aggression. We can do a meet and greet if you are unsure!
A typical day
I talk to dogs and cats a lot and really enjoy giving them ear rubs, treats, etc. depending on owner preferences. I try to make the environment as welcoming and calm as possible for my four-legged visitors as possible, since they are aware from their home and their humans. I will treat your pet just like I would treat my own, which means doing everything I can to help them feel loved and welcomed.

Work-from home dog lover!
Pet care experience
I am a huge animal lover. I've owned dogs for most of my life (both large and small) but am now dogless, since 15-year-old Roxy crossed the rainbow bridge. I have two cats who get along well with dogs and other cats, as long as they aren't aggressive. I received a Pet CPR and First Aid Certification in January 2026 from American Health Training. I also completed a dog massage course in May 2024 and love giving ear scratches, rub downs and massages. I enjoy giving dogs lots of love and reassurance by petting and talking to them throughout the day. I have a fenced backyard and enjoy sitting outside, and playing fetch or just enjoying the weather with them. I work from home so if your pet needs companionship, they will have plenty of it! They will be spoiled with attention and love, but I do enforce whatever rules each owner has for their dog, such as whether they are allowed on furniture, whether they can have people food, etc. I will take great care of your four-legged friend!

Reviews

Susan was such a joy to partner with. She was so professional, thorough, and accommodating from intake to pick up at the end of my girl’s stay. I’d rebook with her again in a heartbeat!

Susan was wonderful with Kaci! She warmed up to her quickly as Susan was attentive and gave her lots of love to make her feel comfortable. We can’t wait to let Kaci stay with Susan again!!

Susan is the most reliable professional sitter. You can leave your beloved pets with her and know that they will be cared for 100%!

Thank you, Susan, for taking such good care of Toby while we were out of town. Your daily updates and photos really put us at ease; we knew Toby was in safe hands. He is so lucky to have a pet sitter like you! Thanks again.
