Safety, trust & environment

Our home is a relaxed, quiet environment suited for gentle dogs that enjoy calm play and plenty of relaxation. We have a fully 6ft fenced backyard where dogs can safely hang out and play. To ensure a calm atmosphere for my resident Golden Retriever and our guests, we only host a maximum of three dogs at a time. Because my dog has been attacked by an unsocialized dog in the past, he naturally relies on a peaceful environment to feel secure. My resident dog is the host, and it is my absolute priority that he feels completely safe, relaxed, and never on guard in his own home. Because of this, we strictly require a meet-and-greet for all new clients to ensure your dog has an easygoing attitude and fits right in with our mellow routine. Dogs We Generally Do Not Accept: High-Drive Working/Herding Types: While gentle larger breeds are very welcome, we cannot accept big dogs that use intense chasing, nipping, or guarding behaviors. Untrained Small Herders: New herding types under 30 pounds that are not fully crate and kennel trained. Behavioral Concerns: Dogs with resource guarding, same-sex aggression, or severe separation anxiety. Socialization: Dogs that have not been properly socialized.

Reliable & Fun Loving Caretaker!

Pet care experience

I've owned and cared for dogs my entire life and have privately dog-sat for friends and family for many years. Dogs are truly my family, and I treat every pet in my care with the same love, attention, and respect that I give my own. I have experience with both small and large breeds. My current dog is a 2 year-old male English Creme Golden Retriever named Norman. Norman's older brother passed away last year, and he would love the companionship of dog friends to play with and enjoy walks. He is friendly, intelligent, very affectionate, and does exceptionally well with dogs of all sizes. I am extremely proactive when it comes to veterinary care. I also have extensive experience caring for special-needs dogs. My Golden Retriever, Oliver, who passed away last year, had health challenges from the time I brought him home as a puppy. At just seven months old, he was diagnosed with severe food allergies. With the guidance of his dermatologist, we successfully transitioned him to a carefully balanced vegetarian diet, as he was allergic to all meat. Not long after, Oliver was also diagnosed with chronic skin allergies and IMHA (Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia) He required daily antibiotics and steroid medication for the remainder of his life. Managing his complex medical needs taught me patience, vigilance, and the importance of working closely with veterinary specialists to provide the best possible quality of life. I am very knowledgeable in recognizing signs of environmental and food related sensitivities I am also comfortable administering medications as directed. Your pet's safety, health, and comfort are always my top priorities.

Thank you for taking such great care of our Minnie! We're so glad that she felt at home and relaxed in your care. Knowing that made all the difference in us being able to enjoy our own vacation. Thank you again for all the attention and love you showed our girl!

Susan is so great with both of our dogs! She did drop-ins for a couple of days while I was out of town. I can tell she really cares deeply about animals and makes sure they are well taken care of. She communicates very well and sends nice updates and pictures. Thank you, Susan, for taking such good care of our dogs.

We were so incredibly impressed with the care that our nine-year-old lab received. The care, the thoughtful messages, and attention to our dogs needs were extraordinary. Could not ask for a better experience for her!
