Your dog's new best friends!
My wife and I started watching dogs in 2023 as favors for friends. We work from home and can give plenty of attention. We also have a teenager who is happy to help with walks and keep the dogs company. We’d love to walk your dog, be a doggy daycare for them while you are at work, or watch them in our home while you are away. We are comfortable giving medicine, bathing (small/medium dogs), and cleaning the gunk out of their eyes and around. We are open to having 2-3 dogs from different boardings however, we will carefully review profiles and consult with owners before considering multiple boardings. We felt very at ease and unworried when we left our pet with Sunshine & Shannon. They were very communicative, sharing pictures throughout the stay and updates (feeding, medication intake, behavior, etc.). Knowing our pet was in responsible hands was reassuring. Thank you both, for taking care of our senior girl!
I highly recommend Sunshine and Shannon. My two dogs, Nera and Nine, were well taken care of and had a great time. If the Super Bowl is ever in Santa Clara again, I will most definitely have them watch my incredibly precious kiddos.
Sunshine and Shannon were amazing! Sent us lots of photos and videos while he was there. We were visiting from out of town and wanted to go to a Sharks game but didn’t want to leave our pup alone in the hotel… we were very appreciative of Sunshine and Shannon letting us drop him off and pick him up so late in the evening instead of booking him overnight.
ovi had a great time. great communication and easy drop off and pickup.
Really great with my elderly dog. She truly enjoys being with them while I'm at work. She is so at ease with them.

Schedule
We work from home. Our teenager helps out after school with walks and keeping company. We don’t travel much. We have a truck making it easy to take the dog with us if needed. We plan out our weeks ahead to make sure our weekends are free to accommodate pets. ***Temporary schedule for July *** For the month of July we will only be open to SMALL dogs - 20 pounds or less, low energy. ***If you see a date blocked off you would like to request service for please do send us a request and let us know your requested dates. We are open to discussing.

Safety, trust & environment
In our home, we can watch the dog as we work. The dogs have access to the side yard to allow the dog to get some fresh air and relieve themselves. For our friends that are closer to the ground with a longer body, we have a ramp allowing easy access in and out of the side yard. We maintain our side yard with weekly sweeping and cleaning of the doggie turf. We have built necessary boundaries to keep the dogs safe as they enjoy the weather outside. We like to interact with the dog while we take breaks (it’s fun us as well). With our staggered work schedule, there is someone always available to walk the dog as well give pets and cuddle time. We like to have meet and greets to ensure the owners and dogs are comfortable and feel safe in our home and with us. We go over treats, habits, and expectations. If there is a request for another dog boarding during a stay we will consult with both owners on their comfort with multiple dogs. We do have treats we can provide and we share this information with the owners to ensure if it is or is not in line with the dog's diet. Our goal is to make sure there is trust and transparency in every boarding and doggy daycare.
A typical day
Love tossing a tennis ball around. We will play with any squeaky toys they have as well we have a few toys for the dogs. Sometimes it will be a lazy day where the dogs prefer to find a perfect laying spot either outside in the sun, on the carpet, on the couch, or in our lap.
