Summer has a natural affinity for animals of all kind, from wild elephants to house cats. She often observes things about them that others don’t, a slight limp, or a swollen eye, indicating a visit to the vet is needed. They, in turn, seem to adore her. To see their reaction when she comes through the door is all you need to know. She is eminently qualified to care for any pet, is affectionate with them, but also knows when to say “no.” She has participated in dog training exercises, is comfortable both walking dogs on a leash and taking them to a dog park. She adores cats, who seem happiest snuggled next to her. I envy the lucky pets that get to have Summer care for them.
