Safety, trust & environment
In my home, anything that can be a danger to the cats is either safely locked away or not brought into the home at all. It takes time for cats to trust new people and I recognize that trust must be earned so I will always be patient and read the cats body language before touching or approaching the cat.
Information Summer M. would like to know about your pet
Always let me know if you have a kitty who needs to be medicated, has any special needs, or who may hide or have any special treats they like! I want to provide the best care and make this the least stressful experience for them as possible. Cats like routine and miss you when you’re gone and I’d love to provide them with as close to the same care as you do!
A typical day
Sitting on the floor and playing with any interactive cat toys is always the best way to interact with cats! It’s less intimidating than standing and wand toys are always a hit. If treats are allowed, they’re always a great way to provide a “reward” at the end of a hunt! Brushing, petting, and grooming are great ways to earn trust with cats that enjoy those things as well and for cats who don’t like to be touched, sitting nearby and just talking to them and providing vocal interaction is okay too!

Pet care experience
I grew up on a farm and have had animals my entire life! Dogs, cats, horses, chickens…you name it! I foster and work at a cat cafe and can medicate animals, especially cats, safely. I value cleaning up after animals because I truly feel they deserve a safe and clean environment. Enrichment and connection is vital to an animals happiness and health! Part of caring for an animal is playing and providing fun not just giving them food! I’ll always make sure to provide a time for play and interaction! This creates trust and helps your pet to not feel boredom. Boredom and animals do not mix!

Reviews

Summer is the best!

Summer is wonderful with my senior dog, and she’s such a kind person. I especially appreciate how flexible she is with accommodating last-minute requests.

Summer is an animal whisperer. She possesses that special aura my senior dog gravitates towards — and even my finicky cat responds to. I fell very fortunate to have crossed paths with Summer. Thank you!

What a pleasure to meet Summer! My senior dog felt comfortable with Summer immediately and was so happy to go for a walk, which is unusual since my dog is 14. Summer is absolutely lovely, bright, and kind. We look forward to seeing her again soon!
