I have over 5 years of professional zookeeping experience, specifically working with animals ranging from cockroaches to fish to river otters (and more!). This has given me a lot of practice with patience, attention and observation when working with animals. I am skilled in noticing small changes in animals that may be a sign of something larger. I am a medical foster through the SPCA of Wake County, and I have a soft spot for animals with medical needs. I have experience giving medications in multiple methods, including by injection.

I value building relationships with animals on their terms, and am very adaptable to different needs. I have a lot of patience for animals who may need a little more time, and energy for the animals who want to be friends right away! Our pets are individuals, and I see the importance in treating them as such.

Summer was my coworker at a live animal care facility and has become a close friend. With years of professional animal care experience, Summer has the education and practice to know how to best care for animals, and the heart to get to know and love them as individuals. They have worked with all kinds of animals, including mammals, reptiles, birds, arthropods, and fish, in areas including husbandry, life support, and training. I have seen them gently and confidently care for animals needing specific medical care. They are very observant and have a keen sense of an animal's needs. They are someone I go to with questions about my own pets, and I would trust them with the care of any of my animals.

Schedule
I work full time 4 days per week (10 hour shifts) and receive my schedule over a month in advance. On work days, I am available after 4:30 pm. Weekends are generally best for individuals that need more structured time together.
