I’ve cared for animals in a wide range of environments, from farms on the Big Island of Hawaii to horses in Appalachia and North Florida. Over the years, I’ve helped care for dogs, cats, horses, and farm animals, (including caring for more than 30 pets in the Asheville area in one summer alone!) I’m dependable, grounded, and comfortable working independently. As a mother currently studying social work, I value calm communication, consistency, and creating a safe, relaxed environment for both pets and homes. I understand that every animal has different needs, personalities, and comfort levels, and I aim to provide attentive, trustworthy care that helps pets feel secure while their owners are away. I’m also happy to include plant watering and basic plant care during visits when needed.

I currently provide care in clients’ homes so pets can remain comfortable in the environment they already know and trust. I understand how important consistency, routine, and familiarity are for animals while their owners are away. I aim to maintain a calm, clean, and dependable environment by carefully following feeding schedules, exercise routines, medication instructions, and household preferences. I’m respectful of clients’ homes, communicative throughout each stay, and attentive to both pet safety and home security. My goal is always to help pets feel relaxed, cared for, and emotionally at ease while giving owners peace of mind that their home and animals are in responsible hands!

Summer has house/pet sat for me recently and did an incredible job taking care of our elderly cat Jessie. She went above and beyond by doing deep cleaning and researching and purchasing a special non toxic cleaner spray if our cat was to go to the bathroom in the house. I highly recommend Summer for anyone looking for a sweet reliable sitter
Summer was excellent and timely; she even came over the day before to learn the routine. We have two dogs that are semi needy and she handled them with great care. Our house was left exactly how we left it and all dishes were clean. We’d love to have Summer back any time
Summer stayed for 3 weeks. She is an excellent communicator and was super kind and conscientious. She loved up my dog; fed, medicated and exercised him as instructed, and sent many cute pictures. She left the house clean even though we came back a day early. Even my house plants thrived. I highly recommend Summer.
We had a great experience with Summer watching our two dog. One is very old, cannot hear well and takes medication. Summer handled all of their medical needs, took the younger dog on long walks and adventures. She shared photos throughout our time away from our dogs and was highly communicative.
Summer G. spent a week in my home taking care of Gracie, who can be rather eccentric at times. She did a great job caring for her and managing her medications. Schedule
Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I’m local to the Lake Junaluska and Waynesville area and have a flexible schedule, especially during the summer while school is out. I’m able to dedicate consistent time and attention to walks, drop-ins, feeding routines, and companionship throughout the day. Because I live nearby, commuting is easy for me, which helps me stay reliable and responsive for clients. I enjoy creating calm, steady environments for animals and genuinely value the trust involved in caring for someone’s pets and home.
