Safety, trust & environment

I care for pets in my client’s home by maintaining their normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable in their own space. I follow all instructions closely, including feeding schedules, litter cleaning, playtime, and any special care needs. I’m respectful of the home, keep everything clean, and provide updates so owners feel at ease while they’re away. I focus on creating a calm, trusting environment for each pet.

Information Summer B. would like to know about your pet

Before I care for a pet, I like to know their routine—what they eat, when they eat, and their bathroom schedule—along with any medical needs like medications or allergies. I also ask about their personality, energy level, and how they behave around people or other animals, plus any triggers or anxieties. It’s helpful to know their walking habits, like leash behavior and favorite routes, as well as what makes them comfortable, such as where they sleep, their favorite toys, and how they like to relax. Knowing all of this helps me keep their day consistent, safe, and as stress-free as possible.

A typical day

I spend the day giving dogs a mix of exercise, stimulation, and comfort so they’re happy and settled by night. Mornings usually start with a walk to get their energy flowing, followed by trips to nearby parks where they can explore, play, and socialize. I like to keep things engaging—games like fetch, light training, or just letting them sniff and roam (their version of scrolling the internet). Sometimes we make a fun stop at Starbucks for a pup cup, which turns into a little outing and reward moment. It keeps the day varied and exciting for them. As the day winds down, I focus on calming them—shorter walks, quiet time, and a cozy environment so they can relax. By the evening, they’re usually pleasantly tired, content, and ready to settle in for the night. Overall, it’s about balancing activity and comfort so they feel cared for, stimulated, and safe in their own space.

Pet care experience

I have three years of experience caring for both dogs and cats, including traveling for in-home pet sitting assignments. Being entrusted with pets in their own environment has strengthened my sense of responsibility, consistency, and attention to detail. I’ve worked with a wide range of temperaments and energy levels, which has taught me how to manage behavioral challenges calmly and adapt to each animal’s specific needs. I’m confident handling unexpected situations and responding appropriately in urgent or emergency circumstances. My priority is always to provide safe, reliable, and attentive care. I’ve cared for multiple pets within the same household, including siblings ranging from puppies to senior dogs. Managing different ages at once has strengthened my ability to adapt to varying energy levels, routines, and care requirements. I understand the patience needed for young dogs and the attentiveness required for seniors, and I’m confident in providing balanced, consistent care for each stage of life.

Summer was so friendly when she arrived to walk our 2 dogs. When they came back from their walk, she was quick and professional to wrap up. Would definitely hire her again! Thanks Summer!

Summer has petsitted our cat Lola for about 2 years. She's always have went above and beyond and showed up for Lola. Lola is a senior and isn't that demanding but she needs affection and to be let out daily, which Summer has loved doing. Seeing their bond together makes us love Summer even more.
