Safe, Calm Stay for Your Dogs Only
I’ve spent 15+ years as a trainer and one who understands behavour, helping rescues, fosters, and adopters with dogs facing challenges like reactivity, leash pulling, resource guarding, and fearfulness. I focus on calm, structured care and tailor everything to your dog’s comfort. Your dog(s) will be the only guest(s) in my home—no other pets—ensuring dedicated, stress-free boarding. I have a large fenced yard and access to quiet walking paths with ponds, where we enjoy two walks a day. I’ve studied dog communication in depth and was invited to present my leash-pulling protocol at the ABAI Conference in Boston. Whether your dog needs support, space, or just a calm place to stay, I provide thoughtful care backed by experience.

Our girl has never been left with anyone but my brother before this 2 week vacation and she's been with us for 5 years! Finding Stuart on Rover seemed to good to be true, but Stuart and his wife exceeded our hopes for having the best care possible for our girl. Stuart's connection and genuine care for our dog was instantaneous and obvious. Stuart's extensive experience with dogs results in his calm, accurate understanding of a dog's individual personality. This was clear from the start and was confirmed when we returned to pick up our girl who was calm and had no anxiety at all after spending 2 weeks in the incredible care of Stuart and his wife!
Stuart and his wife were wonderful with Dexter. Stuart is clearly very knowledgeable about dog behavior and training, which made me feel completely comfortable leaving Dexter in their care. It was evident that Dexter felt right at home. Thank you so much, Stuart!
We have had the opportunity to work with Stuart as a trainer on behaviour issues with a dog we were hosting in our home. Stuart is very caring, intuitive with various dog behaviours and provides easy to implement recommendations that work! He can very quickly recognize a behaviour and provide a workable solution that allows you to successfully make the dog feel comfortable and that you understand what they are asking for. He definitely helped us to keep ourselves and our own dog safe, while providing support for the very stressed dog we were hosting. Stuart is a very caring, compassionate individual who clearly understands what dogs need and can absolutely help with behaviour issues and training. I was introduced to Stuart to assist me with behavioral issues with my newly adopted Labrador Retriever. Since it was during COVID we met weekly virtually - the time Stuart took to help me was amazing and the changes to my Lab and I taught us so much! With this new venture his true love for dogs is second to none he will be both loving and a responsible pet caregiver and if you are lucky he may teach them a thing or two!!
I don’t think you’ll find anyone better to care for your dog than Stuart—myself included! I had the chance to see firsthand how Stuart treated his own pets when I cared for them while he and his wife were out of town. The love, attention, and deep knowledge he had about dogs completely blew me away. When I finally got a dog of my own, I knew exactly who to turn to. Stuart provided weekly, personalized training sessions to help me learn how to train my dog, Goose. Thanks to his guidance, Goose now provides therapy and comfort to others—a result I truly don’t think would have been possible without Stuart’s help. Your pet will be in incredibly capable, loving hands. Stuart is an absolutely wonderful person and a phenomenal caregiver.

Schedule
I work from home five days a week, and my spouse works from home full-time, so your dog will rarely be left alone. We’re almost always home, and when we do go out, it's never for more than 4–5 hours. In most cases, your dog will have constant companionship and supervision throughout the day.

Dogs in my care have free range of the home, with a few off-limit areas (like certain beds and couches for larger dogs). I provide a calm, respectful environment where dogs are treated with patience, kindness, and clear boundaries. I have a large, fully fenced backyard for safe outdoor time and beautiful nature trails just behind my home for peaceful, enriching walks. I tailor routines to each dog’s comfort level and always prioritize their emotional and physical well-being.
A typical day
Each day includes two 30+ minute walks, often using a long line so your dog can safely enjoy the freedom of movement, like an off-leash experience. We also enjoy playtime inside and in the fenced backyard. I incorporate enrichment games like stuffed Kongs, snuffle mats, and other mentally stimulating activities. If your dog has specific training needs, I’m happy to include skill-building sessions during their stay—just let me know what you'd like us to focus on!
