Experienced Care for Every Dog
Dogs have been part of my life for over 25 years, from puppies taking their first steps through to older dogs needing a gentler pace and extra care. I’m a retired police dog handler and trainer with 10 years’ professional experience. This has given me experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes and personalities — from family pets to energetic, high-drive and reactive dogs. But you don’t need a working dog or a perfectly trained dog to come to me! My focus is simply on understanding your dog as an individual and providing safe, thoughtful and welfare-led care tailored to their personality, routine and needs. I’m currently completing a Level 4 Canine Behaviour course to further develop my knowledge and am fully insured. After retiring from policing and sadly losing our own dog last year, I have decided to put my experience into something I genuinely care about — helping other owners know their dogs are in experienced, caring hands. 🐾 Dog Walking 🐾 Dog Sitting & Drop-ins 🐾 Puppy to Senior Care 🐾 Experience with reactive & high-drive dogs 🐾 Home Boarding coming soon — subject to council licensing New to Rover, but certainly not new to dogs.
Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
Your dog's safety, welfare and comfort always comes first. Before caring for your dog, I like to understand their normal routine, behaviour, medical or dietary needs, walking habits and anything that may worry or excited them. I believe getting to know them is an important part of providing safe, reliable care, including a meet up prior to 1st walk. For home visits and house sittings I'll follow your instructions and dog's established routine ; feeding, medication where agreed, toilet, play, enrichment and settling time. I'll also respect your home and keep you updated so you know how your dog is getting on.
Ratings and reviews
Stuart looked after my two dogs, a GSD and a Sprocker for a week while I was on holiday. The GSD can be difficult especially with men, Stuart was great with him and he settled in nicely, as i sat and had a cup of tea with Stuart and his wife Becky. On my return both dogs had clearly enjoyed their stay. I have no hesitation in recommending Stuart as he is confident and compassionate in his care for dogs.

Schedule
I'm available for bookings 7 days a week and can offer flexible care to fit around you and your dog's usual routine. This includes early morning, daytime and evening walks. Having recently retired from policing, I have good flexibility throughout the week and can accommodate both regular bookings and occasional care where availability allows. I understand that every dog has their own routine, so i'll always aim to arrange walks and visits at times that work best for their individual needs.

- The more I know about your dog, the better I can tailor their care. Before their first booking, I’d love to hear about their usual routine, feeding, medication or health needs, favourite walks and activities, and what helps them feel happy and settled. It’s equally important to know about any fears, triggers, reactivity, recall or lead-walking needs, behaviours around other dogs and people, or anything they find difficult. Please also let me know about any little quirks, favourite toys, commands or house rules. There’s no judgement — dogs are individuals, and knowing the full picture helps me provide safe, enjoyable and consistent care that feels familiar to them.
