Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I was recently let go from my federal job, which gives me plenty of time for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and check-ins. Since I already care for my own two dogs, pet care is a regular part of my daily rhythm—feeding, walks, playtime, and maintaining routines—so adding client pets into that flow feels seamless and enjoyable.

When caring for pets in a client’s home, my focus is always on maintaining their normal routine so they feel comfortable and secure. I follow all feeding schedules, walk times, medication needs, and any special instructions exactly as provided. I make sure they get plenty of attention—whether that means playtime, snuggles, or simply keeping a calm presence for pets who prefer quiet companionship. I also keep the home tidy, clean up after the pets, and send regular updates so owners always know how their fur baby is doing. When pets are in my care at my home (if the service selected allows for it), I ensure they have a safe, welcoming environment. I provide structured potty breaks, playtime, and rest, and I closely supervise interactions with my own two dogs to make sure everyone feels comfortable. Whether in my home or the client’s, my priority is always the same: to provide a loving, safe, and stress-free experience tailored to each pet’s needs.

I also like to know their energy level, favorite activities, and any fears or triggers—such as loud noises, other animals, or certain handling sensitivities. Understanding their temperament, social preferences, and how they behave on walks helps me ensure their safety and comfort. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can provide a smooth, stress-free, and personalized experience for your pet.
A typical day
I love tailoring activities to each pet’s personality. For dogs who enjoy being active, I provide walks, outdoor playtime, and plenty of fetch or tug-of-war. For more relaxed pups, I offer gentle strolls, snuggles, and calm companionship. If a pet has favorite toys or games, I make sure to incorporate those into our time together. For cats, I engage with wand toys, laser pointers, or quiet bonding time—whatever helps them feel comfortable and happy. My goal is always to create fun, safe, and enriching experiences that keep pets mentally stimulated, physically active, and feeling loved while their owners are away.
