Availability
Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine because I’m retired and have very open availability. I don’t juggle other work commitments, so your pet’s schedule becomes my schedule. This allows me to be flexible with feeding times, walks, medication needs, and companionship throughout the day. I’m able to give pets the attention and consistency they deserve rather than fitting them in between other obligations.

Information Steven L. would like to know about your pet
It’s helpful for me to know anything that makes your dog feel comfortable and secure — their routine, feeding schedule, walking habits, favorite toys, and any fears or sensitivities. I also ask for an emergency contact and your preferred animal hospital or vet information. I’ve never had to use it, but I believe in always being prepared so I can act quickly and responsibly if anything unexpected happens.
A typical day
I match activities to each dog’s personality and energy level. For active dogs, that can include longer walks, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to explore and sniff. For calmer or senior dogs, I focus on gentle walks, light play, and lots of relaxed companionship. Throughout the day, I make sure pets get attention, mental stimulation, and downtime so they stay engaged, happy, and comfortable.

Pet care experience
Hi, I’m Steven— a retired restaurant manager who brings the same level of responsibility, consistency, and attention to detail to pet care. I’m calm, patient, and dependable, which helps dogs feel safe and relaxed with me. I already dogsit most of the year, and many of my regular clients encourage me to open up more availability on Rover so more owners can benefit from the care I provide. I do especially well with dogs who prefer steady routines, gentle handling, and clear communication. Whether your dog is energetic or more laid-back, I focus on providing reliable, attentive care and making sure they feel comfortable and well looked after at all times. For boarding and day care, your loved one would be staying in a dog-free fenced-in home, allowing for a calm, low-stress environment and more individualized attention. I only provide care for one family at a time.
Reviews

If you are looking for a spectacular sitter, hire Steven! He went above and beyond for our pup, keeping us posted every step of the way with great photos. Our dog has separation anxiety, but Steven handled it flawlessly by dedicating lots of quality time to him and taking him on frequent daily walks. We couldn't have asked for better peace of mind. Highly recommended!

Steven is the best! Was able to accommodate a last minute sit with our dog, who can be quite anxious at times, but she immediately gelled with Steven and his home. Got great updates throughout and a great suggestion on to improve her walking habits so she quotes pulling. Cant thank Steven enough

Thank you Steven for accommodating a last minute request when another sitter cancelled on me. Steven is THOROUGH! He will ask questions to make sure he understands exactly what your dog needs. He let us see the space our dog would be chillin in, he had his own dog stairs which was much appreciated due to my senior dog having luxating patella. Steven sent many pictures so I knew my dog was in good hands and he also took him out for various potty breaks when he totally didn’t have to. I will definitely be using Steven’s services again!

He had my reactive dog while I was out of town and the updates on my dog were awesome. If I reached out for an update, Steven would update ASAP. He also provided updates throughout the day which was wonderful. My dog doesn’t do well with strangers but Steven was able to take care of my dog, he even turned belly up for rubs. That’s when you know it’s 100% trust from the dog! Very lovely and I plan to continue to use Steven for my future bookings. Very grateful!!
