I’m calm, patient, and dependable, helping dogs feel safe and relaxed. I’ve been professionally caring for dogs for over 20 years and dog-sit for regular clients throughout most of the year. Many of those clients have encouraged me to open more availability on Rover so more pet parents can benefit from the care I provide. I do especially well with dogs who thrive on steady routines, gentle handling, and clear communication. Whether your dog is energetic or laid-back, I focus on reliable, attentive care and ensuring they feel comfortable and well looked after at all times.

I was super hesitant leaving anyone with my fur baby, but Steven made this process so easy. He constantly sent updates and pics and in all the pics my Mac looked so happy. I will definitely be booking with Steven again if needed. Highly recommend.
Steven was super great, patient and loving towards my newly rescued dog. He sent pictures and updates every day and I can see my dog was extremely happy and living her best life, especially since he’s so close to a park and can provide adventures. I would definitely recommend him and I will be using him again in the future!

Schedule
Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I’m retired and have open availability. I do not have competing work commitments, so I can give your dog consistent attention throughout the day rather than fitting care around another job. I can maintain their usual feeding schedule, walks, medication routine, playtime, rest, and companionship. Because I care for dogs from only one client household at a time, I’m able to provide the flexibility, supervision, and individualized attention each dog deserves.

I am Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid Certified. Every pet is unique, so I tailor care to their individual needs, routine, and comfort habits. Whether I’m caring for your dog in my home or yours, I closely follow your instructions for feeding, walks, medications, exercise, and any special care needs to help keep their routine as familiar as possible. Safety always comes first. I maintain a calm, low-stress environment and use secure entry and exit procedures, careful leash handling, and close supervision during walks, outdoor time, and play. For boarding and day care in my home, I provide care for dogs from only one client household at a time, helping avoid the stress and risks that can come with unfamiliar group settings. My goal is for your dog to feel safe, understood, and genuinely cared for while you’re away.
A typical day
I tailor each day to your dog’s personality, energy level, usual routine, and any instructions you provide. For active dogs, that may include longer walks, supervised playtime, enrichment activities, and plenty of time to explore and sniff at a comfortable pace. For calmer, senior, or lower-energy dogs, I focus on gentle walks, light play, quiet companionship, and plenty of restful downtime. Throughout the day, I provide regular attention, mental stimulation, bathroom breaks, meals and medications as directed, and a calm, consistent routine so your dog stays engaged, comfortable, and well cared for. Because I care for dogs from only one client household at a time, I can give them individualized attention and adjust the day around what helps them feel happiest and most at ease.

- It’s helpful to know anything that helps your dog feel comfortable, safe, and at ease—especially their usual routine, feeding schedule, walking habits, bathroom routine, favorite toys or activities, and any fears, triggers, sensitivities, or medical needs. Before care begins, I also require an emergency contact, your preferred veterinarian or animal hospital, current medication instructions if applicable, and any important home, leash, or handling details. I have thankfully never needed to use emergency information, but I believe in being prepared so I can respond promptly, calmly, and responsibly if something unexpected arises. The more I know about your dog’s personality and normal routine, the better I can provide consistent, individualized care.
